Default Spain proving that "Green" jobs are just a lot of wind

Spain has Europe's highest unemployment rate, 18 %. Twice as high as the E.U. average.

Spain has invested more per capita in so-called "Green " jobs than any other E.U. country. At a cost of as much as $800,000 each in subsidies. Wind-industry jobs are the most expensive costing $1.4 million each. And each "new" such job costs 2.2 jobs elsewhere that are lost or not created. Spain has suffered a net LOSS of 110,000 jobs thanks to "Green" subsidies and other environmental laws.

The White House has pronounced the latest study as "wrong" while admitting that no one in the White House has read it. Professor Gabriel Calzada's Report can be read at: tinyurl.com/d7z9ye . My apologies for being absolutely lame when it comes to linking.

To date ALL of Calzada's critics have sheepishly admitted that A. They have NOT read his report and B. There is no way that his report can possibly be correct and C. Even if it were, it would NOT be a sufficient reason to deviate from "Green" policies.

So before anyone buys into the Green techologies = a job creating engine as pushed hard by Paul Krugman, Tom Friedman, Al Gore, George Soros and of course, Barack Obama a review of actual experience might be instructive.

Bringing matters closer to home, Oregon is already following in Spain's footsteps ...

I highly recomment reading the 'official' story, and then reading the comments. Some highly interesting facts emerge ...

    - nobody is accounting for the tax dollars needed to create / finance these green jobs

    - nobody is accounting for the higher 'conventional' energy prices resulting from green energy subsidies

    - when the tax money stops coming, the jobs disappear (bio-diesel example)

    - the green job growth figures are meaningless due to the short time frame

    - nobody is accounting for the secondary effects on non-green businesses faced with higher taxes and higher energy costs as a result of having to pay for green job subsidies out of two separate pockets.
