    Default Members Area Websites

I have been camming for a few years now and recently made the decision to start a members website. I have taken it all upon myself from the design to setting up shoots with friends. On my own the site will be very amateur in nature. I am currently camming with a company that will allow me to add ccbill sub account to my members site (I will make 75% profits, which is reasonable with billing fees included) when it is ready but, and there is always a but:

IT IS SO MUCH WORK, TOO MUCH!!!
I have the design all set and it isn't fancy or flashy like the competition. I made the decision to do this to make things easier on myself. I still have over 100 sets of pictures I need to take as well as video. I would like to shoot all of the content so I have about a good years worth of updates. I will need to maintain and advertise the site on my own as well. Now, I do not want my twat posted all over the internet, and I do not expect to make millions from my amateur project, and I just want a lil place on the net my true cam fans can come to visit. The $25 a month adds up. As of right now I know about 50 fans who will join. My goal would be to get about 500 members within the first year of opening. I know these figures are low, but I am not a porn star and I do not intend to be one. But I am having second thoughts about doing all of this on my own. I have the know how to do so, but I want my site to be a success, somewhat.

I do not want to be just another pretty face that just sits behind the camera, but I have really been considering working with an established company who will take care of everything from advertisement to shoots. I have been very stubborn for so long about working with others because in my past I had an encounter with a shady photographer and my mistakes are still online for me to see from my past. I could also pay someone to design and program a site to take that load off of my shoulders, but in that case I would still have to take on all of the advertisement for the site. I could also pay a photographer to do shoots for something more professional, but it is not worth it to invest this money if I wont have many members. I know I will not make as much as a percentage working with a company. I hear it is usually a 50-50 split, but, 50% of what 5,000 members spend will bring me much more profit in the longrun then 500 members at 75%.

Any of you girls currently have a members area? Are you working alone or with a company? I am located in las vegas and I can travel. If you can direct me to a company in my area, please do. I do not want to give up, but it has really been overwhelming. Just trying to find out more options. I also am aware of sites like southerncharms, unfortunately I am not intrested in working with them. Any advice appreciated

Drop me an email I can direct you away from the problem companies and towards the better ones. There really isnt a great one.

As for your goals, they are a bit lofty. Solo girl sites usually dont get more than 500 members. I have clients that run programs (think a conglomerate of sites) that dont have 5000 members and they are selling 10 sites for $19.99 a month. Most hardcore pornstars have 100-400 members and softcore girls are 100-200 unless you are with a program that can afford to push major traffic.

Something else to keep in mind. If you go with a program you only get credit ($) for someone that signs up on your site. If they see yours and click a link to another girl's site, she gets that member. Before you sign an agreement, please have a lawyer that does adult review it. I have done dozens of these contracts (written them and reviewed them ) and unless you know how the accounting goes in the industry it can be confusing for a lawyer that is not experienced in these contracts.

I have been very leary of working with others, when I first began modeling, I started shooting and I basically signed all of my content away!!! It is still on the web to this day!!! I have since learned from my mistakes.

I have done alot of researching some of the well known solo girls and their traffic stats but it does nothin gto help you determine how many members the sites actually have. The offers I have gotten in the past I have not taken because their numbers are not realistic. I also do not want to alway shave to do nude or hardcore style shoots, more of a caseyscam style site, so I have my doubts that people will be willing to work with me as well.

I am shocked to hear such low numbers, and I know these sites have a very hard time keeping members. In this case maybe it is best for me to start off myself and continue to work with the company I have been with for the past two years. Once all the shoots are done and the design is 100% complete, I will only have to update it. Unfortunately it is the ADVERTISEMENT that is a ton of work. I promote my camshows now as is and it feels like me against the internet some days. I just want to make it a little easier on myself, and offer another way for my fans to connect with me. I work full time on cam and I love it but it would be nice to have a decent chunk of change coming from a members site.

I also know it is again..about the hustle. If a guy sees my site link somewhere and joins my members area, I can hustle him from there to get camshows, etc. I think this is a big problem with alot of the solo girl sites out there, they are not on the site consistently enough to talk to their members, the members are left fighting for their attention in "weekly camshows"

Michael you seem to have all the answers! Now tell me when there will be a 28 hour day so I can get all of this work done!

Its not that much once you get it going. Updating once or twice a week is easy. And if you are using a camcorder with a Mini-DV you have plenty of content to update with from your cam shows for your members.

Getting the site built isnt that difficult either. I know guys that will build a site for a performer for $750-$2000 depending on what you want.

You are correct about traffic though. I do not know how you advertise your camshows but without organic traffic coming from search engines you will need to set up your own rev share program through CCBill. That will help. You will need to go where the qualified traffic is -- Freeones.com is a good starting point.

I could go on but it would take hours to type. This would be much easier via the phone. Drop me an email and we will talk.
