    Default Angry hairdresser?

So this came to me out of left field today.

My hairdresser is also my room mate. Great right? Most of the time it is. But this has been a really hard month, and I let my roots go a little bit because I can't afford to pay $150 for hair right now.

So she's like oh it's cool, just pay me for the product, like $25. I thought that was fantastic, and to show my appreciation, gave her $40.

Today, she tells me that she expected me to give her $100 because she was letting me have the discounted price. She said if I wanted her to keep doing my hair, that is what she would expect.

I was fucking blindsided. The whole reason she gave me the discount was because I couldn't afford it, so how can I afford $100 tip?! And who was I supposed to know that's what she expected?

I'm feeling really hurt about all of it, and am considering going to someone else, even though I love how she does my hair. Thoughts?

Say what you mean and mean what you say. She can't come back later and change the rules she set. She shouldn't have offered her services for less than she thought she was worth.

^^^ Exactly. What a stupid ass game to play. If she wasn't able to say what she meant, then this situation was bound to lead to misunderstanding.

I wouldn't be comfortable having her do my hair anymore, because I'd never know what she meant or expected. Any way you could say something like that? "I'd like to keep having you do my hair, when I have the money to afford it, but it makes me worried that we can't communicate in an open and upfront way. It makes me worry that there's going to be more misunderstandings, and I wouldn't want our friendship/living situation to become strained over more misunderstandings"?

How much do you love her doing your hair? Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and put up with some b.s. to get your hair did the way you like it..... I feel your pain.

You can say that again.. not just on here but men in general. Guys are so damn lame, the only way they can halfway make up for it is by opening their wallets.

^^^^I agree. It's so hard to find someone who does my hair right.
