    Default Thinking abuot Pregnancy

An article about avoiding preeclampsia by getting your body used to your partner's genetic material.

OK. It's about oral sex etc. Could be right or wrong; I don't know; but it was published in a reviewed medical journal.

Laugh at it if you want. I'm not endorsing its technique even if you aren't making bacon. This includes an accompanying article in opposition plus some reader comments. Why regular sex wouldn't work as well, I do not know.

I thought about posting this in Body Business and LIfe Support as well. Any moderator may feel free to move it to the best forum.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

This is absolute trash, it even says so at the bottom of this "article", with the doctor's comments.

This is written by a TV persona, not a medical doctor with any expertise. The only actual "reviewed medical journal" that covers this was written by a resident, not a distinguished doctor, in a very tiny study, and was disproven by a larger one later with actual doctors.

I found the actual article referenced as published in 1998....

    ...thru MEDLINE

Immune maladaptation in the etiology of preeclampsia: a review of corroborative epidemiologic studies.
    G A Dekker, P Y Robillard, T C Hulsey
    Obstet Gynecol Surv
    Jun 1998 (Vol. 53, Issue 6, Pages 377-82)

    Abstract
Genuine preeclampsia is a disease of first pregnancies. The protective effect of multiparity, however, is lost with change of partner. Also, exposure to semen provides protection against developing preeclampsia. Analogous to altered paternity, artificial donor insemination and oocyte donation are reported to result in a substantial increase of preeclampsia. Thus, epidemiologic studies strongly suggest that immune maladaptation is involved in the etiology of preeclampsia. Although the exact etiology of preeclampsia remains unknown, the conclusions derived from epidemiologic studies may have consequences for practicing physicians: 1) according to the primipaternity concept, a multiparous women with a new partner should be approached as being a primigravid women; 2) artificial donor insemination and oocyte donation are associated with an increased risk of developing pregnancy-induced hypertensive disorders; 3) a more or less prolonged period of sperm exposure provides a partial protection against pregnancy-induced hypertensive disorders. In the 1990s, all women with changing partners are strongly advised to use condoms to prevent sexually transmitted diseases. However, a certain period of sperm exposure within a stable relation, when pregnancy is aimed for, is associated with a partial protection against preeclampsia.

If I wanted to gulp a dose of my partner's DNA, wouldn't making out do the trick?

    ("French Kissing")

Not sure about that, but having him cum inside you certainly would do that; seems it just takes some time for your immunity to build up. Saliva (yours and/or his) may destroy the immunological factors involved. Also I'd think stomach acids would also destroy it. But I don't know much about biology. The article's abstract just refers to exposure in general terms....
a more or less prolonged period of sperm exposure provides a partial protection against pregnancy-induced hypertensive disorders
As I say I'm only reporting what I found. I do not support nor encourage this technique.

(I don't like to do that kind of kissing, but I do encourage spitting/drooling during oral. Sorry to be explicit here.)
