Question Customers laughing in your face...

This happened to me last night while I was making my rounds behind the bar collecting tips. It didn't hurt my feelings, but my co-worker sitting next to him was pissed and forced him to give me a dollar.

A simple no thank you would suffice.

What do you think goes through a person's head that makes them feel okay to try and treat the girls like crap?

How did you handle the situation?

BTW it was a slow night and I am thankful that she managed to get him to tip me.

I don't know why customers think that because they are in a strip club they have the right to treat the girls like crap. Maybe they are insecure, on a power trip, or can't get girls like us in real life. So basically they feel the need to knock us down to feel better about themselves. It's kind of like guys who treat waiters/waitresses like crap... because they are genuinely miserable, entitled, self-absorbed people who do this to feel better about themselves.

I don't have any good comebacks for you. I tend to ignore people like that or just straight up tell them how rude they are. I'm not good at the quick witty comeback when someone is being mean

I'm not great on comebacks either, though I made up for it by going to the other stage and did some pole work. The co-worker and the other dancers/patrons in the bar came over to the stage and gave me money. Which probably made him feel pretty silly, as he left soon after.

    1. Alcohol. Take a person that is already a degenerate without it, add alcohol and you have super-degernerate.

    2. If it was me I would have just rolled my eyes, walked away. I don't know what kind of setup you have at your club, but at mine we don't have to go around and ask for $$ when we do a stage, so I don't know what it is like to have to do that.

It's cool your friend go a tip from him, but I wouldn't have wanted it. He could have kept his stinkin' money.

I've had guys respond in negative/rude manners also, I don't think I've had a asshole laugh in my face. You can't let it bother you. Usually I'll just roll my eyes and walk away. Sometimes (if they are a real dick) I'll call them on it and say,"Ya know, you are a rude asshole. The only reason I am even speaking to you is because you. are. in. a. strip. club. Don't flatter yourself. I can understand why someone who looks the way you do needs to put others down to feel better about yourself, so I forgive you. Have a good night!" Then I walk away and will no longer acknowledge his presence.

Its really not you, its them. I've heard guys be rude to even the most beautiful girls. Some guys are just losers.

I hated these jerks. If they aren't interested, just say no. Yet these types of guys get off on power trips. I used to tell these losers that at least I got laid, and didn't have to resort to a strip club to fantasize. Often I'd tell them they have tiny penises and have to compensate by being nasty because they knew strippers would never date them. I've actually had some of these guys apologize (and a few even ended up buying dances) because of name calling. Of course the others find out that being nasty means the girls ignore them and often they end up leaving.

I would laugh right back and tell him that he obviously needs his dollar more than I do and then I would roll my eyes and walk away.

A lot of factors let them treat us like this. Most of them are assholes to begin with, add alcohol and hot naked women and you've got a full on loser on your hands.

They have low self esteem and don't know how to act around women.

Some things I have told rude customers:

"Coming from a stripper, you're just low class." (I'm here to make a living. What are you here for?")

"One day your going to see a beautiful woman in a crowded room, and she'll pick up on how rude you really are and probably ignore you." (Read in a book on how to pick up hot chicks. The reversal works well.)

"You have bad manners." (Insults their upbringing.)

The best thing you can do is ignore them and walk away unphased or sit with one of their friends. Make sure their friends are facing away from them.

Talked to a customer who was fucking rude and asked him if he was a cop. That shut him up. Then tried talking to his buddy who was a douche too.

Finally I got in with their third party who seemed to really like me. That made the other two feel like total asses. The only reason I even did that was it was super slow.

I'm a straight up fucking bitch to them. Insult me at my job as an entertainer when you're here as a pathetic loser and it's fucking on. I seriously melt their faces. I come from a verbally abusive family with parents that could reduce my siblings and I to nothing with one comment, so I just channel my parents and I become the most concise, brutal insult artist ever. Fuck them. Seriously, it'll roll off my back because I'm used to it as a naked public performer in a bar, but they'll cry their fat bald asses to sleep at night alone thinking about what I said to them.

I usually walk away and then point him out to all of the girls in the club so his power trip is immediately ended while he is left standing there wondering why no-one is approaching him anymore.

I agree with everyone that said it was a power trip thing. Some customers seem to be under the impression that strippers have low self-esteem because you know dancing on stage nude/topless in a room full of strangers screams lack of confidence lmao. Not to mention putting up with the guys like the OP's asshole or the ones that feel compelled to critique your body. Yeah stripping isn't a job for those with thin skin.
A couple nights ago I was talking to this guy (who was being obnoxiously grabby btw). I happened to glance at myself in the wall paneled mirror behind us- the guy went nuts breaking out into a tangent that all strippers are so insecure because the need to look at themselves whether they are onstage or at the tables. I was like "Listen, insecurity is not one of my problems. Sorry if I prefer what I see in the mirror to what I'm looking at in front of me" [smiling sweetly as I look directly at him]. Then I walked away.
If a guy wants to be a creep or a stingy loser let them keep their dollars.

+1. Oh man, I would get on a plane to witness one of these teardowns in person! It would so make up for all the times I didn't have a snappy comeback in my repertoire.

i worked for a very short time in a crappy dive. groups of broke college boys would pour in on fridays and just NOT BUY DANCES. to top it off, theyd reject girls in the crudest ways. even though i suck at comebacks i can bounce comments off me like nothing. id walk away while they were still talking or go, ooh? thanks sweety i hope that made you feel better. i mean, youre in a strip club and you still cant get a girl to talk to you. :giggle/smile:
maybe not mature but it worked for me

something nasty and sarcastic to say usually quickly comes to mind, and shuts them up. Im with ViolaStrings on that one.

Another thing i do if they have bought me a drink then piss me off is belligerently chug it then leave. I dont recommend this to girls who cant handle their alcohol though. One time a customer bought champagne and pissed me off so much that i chugged the rest of the bottle then left. Very effective way to get back at someone...
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

I'm generally nice... one night though I had a guy say something rude to me. I walked away mumbling how he looked like an overweight version of a very well known actor. Just don't let it get to you. Britney had a good idea with handing the money back - obviously with an attitude like that he's going to have to buy attention at some point in his life!
