Default Dancing with a broken toe...?

So, earlier today, I was cleaning up my house a little bit and when I was taking magazines to another room, I [what to expect] stubbed my middle toe!!! It didn't hurt too bad, not like the other time I fractured my toe.

The last time I fractured it I wasn't dancing. But Basically, this is my job and I love it, but I don't want to miss too much of work [if any at all]

I'm asking you girls what you did when you fractured your toe.... I know some girl has gone through it. I'm wondering if wrapping it in tape will do the trick or whatever... PLEASE TELL ME!!

[[i know this, its not broke badly, barely any bruising at all, just hurts alittle]]

Do you have boots? If you have boots wrap it, and where them.

omg girl, i'm sorry to hear this! i'd suggest ibuprofen or tylenol - be careful with alcohol when you take them, though. I don't want ya having liver failure!

I also would suggest considering wrapping them, or at least keeping it wrapped when you're not working. Also be sure to ice it at first, then apply heat later - if i'm not mistaken, ice only works at first.

I hope you heal soon! Make sure to take very good care of yourself so that you can heal better. I broke my pinkie toe once, and that sucked balls.... *hug* good luck chickie!

really, though. Take good care of yourself and your toe, that's the best you can do. Are you sure you didn't just sprain it?

You tape it up and work if you don't have eanouph in the savings. Or you have a back up redkneck bar that you can wear flip flops or low non stripper platforms at while it heals (hell, i've worn a football jersy, gym socks and funky skate shoes and $$$$ at ghetto club day after one broke) If you work on it be prepaired to have a semipermanent calcium buildup on your toes that looks like a huge calous under the skin. I've done it several times, honestly, toe pains are a part of dancing. Be glad we don't go on point like in ballet. Have you ever seen their toes? EGADS!
BTW if you like the super high shoes and work more than two nights a week be prepaired for toe damage, and start wearing sneaks around the house. The sirculation changes that happen from the shoes make them more prone to breaking.
Also, learn to pole trick from both directions that way the pressure doesn't always go to that toe.

i broke my big tow last summer and just started wearing fancy flip flop and not going on stage. I looked like a shiny beach gal and still sold dances. Girls thought I was just being lazy but oh well, it has to heal correctly!

makes sense though. you make an engine run on less oil than it needs, and guess what.... it's prone to more issues.

i'd also say that less calcium has a LOT to do with it. maybe munch on some tums while you're healing?
