I would suggest doing a search. This question gets asked a lot. Get some arnica, take vitamins, up your iron intake in your diet (like the foods your consuming) and drink pineapple juice.
Sorry I missed church. I was too busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian.

Do you have any outfits you can wear to keep your skin safe? Like pants or a long skirt? I wear pants. The legs help you slide, but you have to wash them all the time.

oh hell yes. I always have. I just always try to go easy - don't slam down, and just be very graceful with your movements. Not gonna lie, though.... I still always end up with random bruises I can't explain. It's very good for amusing my BF, since he likes to create stories for how it happened LOL.

i used to a lot in the beginning. now just the pain but no actual bruising.
Leg warmers and/or sturdy thigh high stockings. They hide existing bruises, prevent new ones from forming, and allow you to slide across the floor with ease. I wouldn't work a shift without em.
All about my boobs...

I haven't danced for 5 years and my knees still hurt to get on them.

omg are u serious! i don't want my knees to hurt forever.

I am totally serious, I have permanant knotts on my knees and it hurts to get on them.

i wear really long, thick socks. my knees still bruise, but they dont hurt unless im working a double shift

I stopped doing floor work in 2003 after I spent the summer a HUGE bursa sacks on my one knee. I called it my third breast.

i'm thinking of stopping doing floor work too unless its really really worth it. is it possible to do sexy moves w/o floor work? i'm planning on only doing it if the tips are huge.

I dont do floorwork... it looks out of place at my club. I have never had problems doing great stage shows while keeping my knees off the ground.
Ive said this on another post, but Ill repost the advice again. Get a bristle hairbrush and rub it with the bristles down in a circular motion over the bruises. It will break down the blood that is sitting under your skin and the bruises will go away MUCH faster. it will hurt your skin slightly, but heck, beauty is pain sometimes.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.
I thought my bruises would never go away...I remember my first night ever working...It was a saturday. Sunday morning it looked like someone beat me with a stick. My legs were stiff and black and blue... I bruise easily as it is anyways. Now I can work an 8hr, but any longer I start to feel it. The color doesnt show, but the ache is there (as mentioned above too).
Honestly, I almost always wear leg warmers. You do slide easier. Occasionally I rock the thigh-hi boots or chaps....ant leg protection helps! ...geez, this makes me dread gping to work already! LOL

I stopped doing much floor work years ago as well. If you do a lot of floor work on your knees you can get water build-up, which is REALLY painful and needs to be drained by the doctors sometimes. Plus, what I started to notice is that the more up-scale the club is the more floor work is looked down on or not allowed - so I just don't really do much anymore... particularly anything on the knees. I have noticed that what happened is that my clientele changed when I stopped doing floor work. I don't get as many guys who are looking to see someone OTC, will try to push my limits, or only buy a single dance. Changing how I danced effected my income in a great way.

Don't you ever sleep?
Not at night...that's when the stars have rather better things to do. They're coming out, shining, that sort of thing.

I wear boots or leg warmers depending on my mood.
Both provide added protection.
I can get bruises just about anywhere if I'm not careful.
Thanks to floorwork I have extra fluid around my knees, not cute.
Yes, but eventually they go away from your body getting used to it. I do have weird nerve damage in my knees from dancing, though, so I try to avoid putting my knees on the stage too much.

I learned to wear some sort of leggings, thigh highs, socks, stockings. Makes it easier to slide around on stage, much easier on the body.
