    Default Weird guy at pool

So I am lounging at my apartments pool with a few other girls I know there and this weird guy walks into the pool area and sits down. I glance over at him and is is just staring at all four of us smoking a cigarette wear a t-shirt and jeans. He does this for like 15 minutes till he gets up and comes over and starts talking to the four of us about how he is in town for a few days, he's not a weird for staring at us and wants us to go out to eat with him and back to his motel for drinks. Mind you this guy is like 45-50 years old and does not shower...I mean what the hell. I get enough of this crap at my club once in a while; f-ing creeps.

I never liked pool that much. I always preferred ocean.

^Sorry, neither of us were helpful. There's no excuse for guys like that. They're either delusional or have no respect for women at all (or both). Unfortunately, I think it's something you'll always have to deal with as a dancer (and a woman in general).

^I don't think your swimming preference was particularly applicable to this thread (neither was my smart-ass comment).

Yes, it was helpful. Think young man, think and you will find the answer. I am going to hit the hay now. Let us regroup tomorrow. Good night!

Its not so much the dancer part, I can except that. This guy had no idea I am a dancer. It was just the way he approached my friends and I. I have never felt that vulnerable before not even at the club. Just rubbed me the wrong way . . .

Like I said, those guys are just out there. Don't like it, but not sure what we can do. I do wish you hadn't had to deal with it...

awww, i'm sorry hon. this is why i tell my boyfriend to ogle girls from INSIDE, not outside.... too bad he and his brother got busted with binoculars by a couple coeds that decided to wave to them....

seriously though, eew. I'd just say, 'Thank you for the offer, but we have other plans.' Be sure to just get up and leave if it happens again.

Just protect yourself and ignore those idiots.

Try hanging out at a beach. Beaches tend to have more normal kind of guys. What do you think?

Yeah that really sucks though, esp. if you live alone it can be a very unsettling experience, I don't know why some people think it's appropriate to behave this way. If you were wearing a bikini in a grocery store- maybe but u were just minding ur own business at the pool. What a shit head. And if he is staying in a motel what was he doing at the pool in your apartment complex? What a freakazoid.

Oh, are you concerned about the usage of word "ocean"?

I've always been kind of ballsy around guys like that. I wouldn't have let him sit there for 15 minutes staring w/o comment. I likely would have started discussing loudly how my daddy is chief of police to my friends and how he sometimes goes crazy if he thinks creepy guys are hitting on me-- all while pointedly staring at said creep guy.

Men are pussies. You and your 3 friends would have been able to kick creepy guy's ass, easy.

Paris and Callista are right but I have a slightly different advise.

    - Avoid a confrontation if you can
    - Stand your ground if you must
    - Pick your battle carefully, ask yourself is it worth the fight?
    - What are your chances of winning the fight if the hostilities break out?
    - Can the problem be solved by calling police? If so, let the police handle it

There are lots of dangerous people out there. It is not wise to provoke people even if you think they are pussies. Keep in mind, your safety is more important than false pride.

Just to clarify, of course you don't want go up against an angry gang bent on violence or anything, but...

Predatory men like their prey weak and quiet. If a target appears to be aggressive in any way, he will back off in favor of a more submissive victim. That's why most predators favor women and children, because they are more easily over powered and less likely to create a scene in the process.

An example I like to give is have you ever tried to trap an angry cat? The thing is just 8-10 pounds of skin and bones, but an attempt to subdue the creature can leave an adult man with some pretty painful injuries. They also make a helluva lot of noise. Sometimes the screeching of a cat in distress can be as unnerving as the claws and teeth that accompany it.

I had martial arts training in middle school, and learned quickly that even older and stronger boys could be subdued through pain more easily than my female classmates. Men have a lower pain threshold than women. Period.

That's why I say guys are pussies. Luckily they aren't responsible for birthing babies or we would have died out as a species long ago!

    God! You are right.

According to my wife, I act like a baby when I get ill.

However, I think there are lots of people out there who have anger management issue and engaging them when you have an option of avoiding them is like poking the hornet's nest.

...i so wished you would have turned on your stripper super powers and said only if he proved himself by skinny dipping first. Then if he does it, grabbing his clothes and running off.

You should try being a caucasian girl in Japan. I would get into a fist-fight every 5 seconds if I confronted each person I caught blatantly staring at me, aka violating me with their eyes. Ha.

This may seem a little out there, but when I was stripping I think maybe I was unconsciously giving off some kind of sexual stripper-ific energy or something, or maybe I was just oozing confidence. I noticed that the attention I got from weird guys ( and guys in general ) increased a LOT. Sometimes I think we put different energies out there, and other people pick up on it. Maybe that has something to do with your pool guy....
