Default getting job as a waitress?

I still want to dance but I just can't take working 6 nights a week anymore because the clubs are so dead and so much of what I make is going back to the club and blah blah. And I'm just tired of going in and making $45 for an eight hour shift (today).

I like dancing and still want to do it but I'm hoping to find a club that will let me waitress 2 or 3 shifts a week so I can cut the days I'm dancing in half. I wouldn't mind going up on stage a few times if they're short on girls or obviously doing a VIP with a customer if they wanted, I just want something where I know I'm making minimum wage and I don't have to spend the whole night hustling for dances. And I wouldn't mind working a couple day shifts, I need to start having some nights free because I really feel like I spend my entire life in a strip club.

Is getting hired the same process as for a dancer, just calling up to see if they're hiring new waitresses or just showing up?

It basically is, and I would tell you to show up in person and apply. Look hot, but not too stripperfied because they probably will try to corral you into dancing.

Don't bother calling. When I was a door girl I was told to tell everyone, "We are not hiring, but your always welcome to come in and submit an application." It was just to cover our own butts, because you'd have real busted girls come in and try to get hired, speak to a manager and say, "But you said you were hiring!"

Honestly, I've been a waitress for 6 months and I can tell you the money sucks right now. I work a 4 nights a week and average $50-80 during the week and $150-180 on my Friday night. I have to tell at least 5 guys a night that a tip is not included in the drink price. . It's hard to pick up extra shifts because EVERY waitress needs money.

If you could do both, you'd probably make a lot more and have regular customers coming in.

Yeah I think $ just sucks for everyone, I made $190 last Friday dancing!

Should I go at any particular time to apply? and should I mention I'm a dancer?

I think you should go around 8 or 9. Then you know the manager will be there. I just got a waitress job at a kinda upscale club with 0 experience. I called and they said they weren't hiring. So i went there anyway and made sure i looked really hot. I know a lot of times managers will hire a girl as a waitress in hopes of turning her into a dancer because he likes the way she looks. I asked if they were hiring and they said yes, and brought me to the manager. I made sure to say i wanted to waitress and maybe, probably not, but maybe thought about dancing. And he was like, oh yea no pressure but would definitely love for you to dance....and then i got the job. so just look hot. lol thats all.
