    Angry Greedy co-workers rant

I hate greedy ass co-workers that want something for nothing. So Friday night a dancer friend of mine gets lucky with a high roller and makes about 2,100 dollars(before tipout) off of him. She ends up paying out $550 to the club, tips $100 to the DJ, $20 to bartender, $20 each to 2 bouncers, and zero to the waitress who she says, was being a real bitch and not bringing her fake shots like she wanted. Now the next night EVERYONE is bitching about how they "only got x amount." These people had NOTHING to do with her making the money. The waitress and bartender were each tipped $50 by the high roller, but the bartender was like, "Well it sucks that I had to fill out all that funny money and you ONLY tipped me $20." I'm thinking bitch it is your job to fill out funny money, you just made $70 off her and her custy alone. Then the bouncers are like, "You made all that money and only gave me $20." Everyone was bitching about how "little" they got off this girl when they did nothing. It really pissed me off, and makes me wonder what they say about me when I make a bit of money. Maybe I am just a cheap bitch, but I can't stand this crap.

Unless you recommended the guy to me, or recommended me for the guy, then why would I give my hard earned money to you??? My friend was pissed about how everyone was treating her and confronted some of the greedy pigs. One of the bouncers was bitching at me about it and then got all pissy when I said I agreed with my friend and thought that her tip was fair. I cannot stand the way some of the employees act so entitled. I don't care how much I make, I would not be handing out large, outrageous tips to those who had jack shit to do with me earning the money. UGGHHHH. Just wondering how much do you guys think is too much/too little?

(FYI, this is actually the SW'er known as "lcorsada" posting. Sorsi is my roommate and I was reading this one over her shoulder. I don't want to log her out, log myself in, then log out and log her back in...so mods, I hope you don't mind me posting under her acct this once.)

Anyway...I think that's insane, and I'm an SC bartender myself! She made $70 between the girl and her customer, and she's bitching?!

Most people think I'm nuts for this, but I won't take a tip from a dancer unless I actually hook her up and sell the room for her. If she gets a customer to write in a big tip for me out of HIS pocket that's awesome, but I'm not going to take money that's coming out of a dancer's pocket. Unless I actually sat there and talked up the dancer and convinced the customer that he simply had go to VIP with her. Even then...I would appreciate something if I just sold a room and made her $2-300, but if I don't get a tip I'm not going to bitch about it. It's karma to help other people make money, and it always comes back to you in some way or another.

And the waitress had no right to bitch about not getting tipped after she fucked up her drinks. If someone asks for a mocktail, there are so many ways to make it look realistic and no excuse for bringing liquor instead. (heh, I should start a thread on how to make various mocktails that actually look and smell like real alcoholic drinks).

Greedy waitstaff make us all look bad.

That was very generous of her. In fact I'm a little pissed off too!

In business whoever brings in the cashflow gets a bonus. Example: ^^@sorsi^^

"Well it sucks that I had to fill out all that funny money and you ONLY tipped me $20." I'm thinking bitch it is your job to fill out funny money"

    Awesome!

Just a reminder that these are employees not business people. No offense to them if you want more money hop out from behind the bar or start your own damn club.

Greedy pigs is an understatement. They need to keep track of their own finances not everyone elses.

    Yep I hate this.

I actually tip my valet more and regardless because anytime I tip him he smiles and I can tell he genuinely appreciates my $. Even though I could easily park my car myself I don't really care because I know he's making way less than I am, and he never expects me to tip him (and if I really can't he never looks at me like, wow you're a bitch).\

I tip if someone helps me out, but I also tip on how they are treating me. If they are not taking their tips and rolling their eyes, bitching about me being cheap or just generally being unappreciative about the fact that I'm giving money I worked my ass of grinding random cock for, they are going to get a hell of a lot $ from me.

I was so angry a few weeks ago because I sold almost no dances but did well on stage. Tips generally get calculated by how many dances you do at my club so I wasn't sure what to tip. I made $200, $25 went back to the house and my manager turned down my tip. I tipped everyone else (2 waitresses and two bouncers, excluding the DJ who I tipped more) $6, so I went home with about $120.

I got the nastiest looks and heard someone saying "six bucks??" excuse me bitch, I will tip the DJ more because I would not have made that money otherwise, but exactly how did you standing at the front checking IDs or standing by the LD booth marking dances or serving other patrons drinks help me make that $200 on stage? And for god's sake it's only $200, it's not like I have thousands to be throwing around.

What killed me was I found out all the staff received a very generous $200 tip from one girl. So, in their tips from that girl alone for the night, every staff member made almost twice what I did.

ugh this irritates the shit out of me! in my club, standard tip out is 10% to the dj, and 10% to the bouncers. if the bouncer hooks you up with a customer, it's one thing - no big deal with hooking him up now.

One of the bouncers at my work literally does barely anything. One day, my friend and I did half an hour in CR right before we closed. He told the guys to pay us at least 150 each, and we ended up getting 200. Granted, this was pretty good - they ended up only getting 20, 25 minutes max. Also, he told them to buy drinks - nm the waitress ignored us for over 15 minutes! The bouncer ended up bitching that my buddy didn't tip him more than 15 on this, and he 'knew' she made 200 (which she did, honestly).... He kept bitching about how he made her 150 for 10 minutes (which was a complete load of shit). This really aggrivates me. Did he hook us up? Yes. But don't belittle how much work I still ended up doing.... I time my shit, man, and it definately was NOT 10 minutes.

Then again, our bouncers are supposed to carry our bags to the dressing room for us. This is the same guy that will sit there and stare at us like a dumbass, or turn and walk away when we come in. So yes, i didn't hook him up.... At the same time, he doesn't do his job, so why would I pay him like he did?

There is nothing more aggravating than someone acting like they are entitled to money that they DIDN'T earn.

Is this how it is in all American clubs...? Holy moly, I've def not encountered this co-worker mentality in the UK and Australia! Yeah she made two grand but remind anyone moaning about how little they got about how many crap nights she's had in the last month, plus the amount a month she has to spend on looking good for the job - the hair, nails, makeup, clothes, gym etc - all of a sudden two grand is a piss in mississippi!!!

thank god they dont do tip out over here and just pay the staff, the barstaff+waitress leave the drinks change in a little tary to enourage customers to leave something for them. I would not be prepared to tip everyone, also here if there is no one to pay for the dance (no housemom whos also part of security, manager to buy chips or even just a bouner sat there who knows we're in a booth) we dont pay commsion, last night no one was there i got 160 GBP 270 USD commision free x

Geez what dickheads! Don't waitresses and bar tenders get tips anyways? Why should the dancers be tipping them as well? And DJ's and Security - why don't they go work at a regular nightclub...cause they're surely not gonna get any tips there! I'm certain that at my club sometimes the waitresses make more than us with their hourly wage and drinks tips... A lot of the dancers have actually started waitressing for this reason.

If some staff member in the club helps me out to make some money I don't mind tipping them, but not just for the hell of it. We are the ones taking our clothes off and putting up with horny men...not them! grrrrr!

Um yea that's ridiculous. I don't ever tip the bartenders or waitresses unless I'm buying food/drinks straight from them which is rare (I always try to get a customer to buy me a drink/food). Of course if they hook you up, that's one thing, but them expecting tips for nothing? Bullshit. When I waitressed at a strip club dancers never tipped me and I never expected them to. Isn't that what customers are for? People are so entitled and greedy.

I think tipping overall is just getting over the top. Like tipping at Dunkin Donuts/Starbucks/fast food places? Everyone expects a handout now.

This is so stupid. I have never been a fan of tipping people that haven't done anything for me. At my club I just tip the DJ (and it's not anything extravagant - only $12-15 if I had an okay day) and I tip the lot guy $3 for walking me out to my car and putting my bags in the backseat. I also tip the bartender a $1 for every drink that I buy from her - that's IT! I already feel like I have to give the club a lot of my money so why the hell would I give any MORE of my money away?

I knew I couldn't be the only one who thought this was ridiculous. What really bothers me is that I LIKE the people I work with, at least I used to. I've been there for 6 years and the staff is generally cool. Now I know the staff probably talks a lot of shit behind my back because I don't give them enough.

I also think 10% to the DJ is bullshit. Now I like our DJ's, they do their job, they announce my name, and play what I want to hear. They are efficient, but nothing over the top or super awesome. It's still VERY rare if I give them more than $35 no matter how much I make. But I can count on my hand the number of times I've given them less than $10 in 6 years, even on nights when I make nothing I will still give the DJ $10, and I hate giving less than $15. I generally tip between 20-25 dollars. I will tip more on really really good nights, but I hate tipping more than $35 unless the DJ hooked me up, took me off stage to do dances, or I had him stay after closing because I was giving dances after the club closed. In those instances I will tip big. But the DJ has nothing to do with me busting my ass and getting dances 99% of the time. There is definetely enough showgirls that he can make a very good income. If I make $500, I am NOT going to give the DJ $50, because he played me TOOL a couple times during the night. Hell no. If anyone wants 10% of my money, they better go sit with 10% of the customers for me and give 10% of the dance.

And the bartender that was bitching got a 3 or 4 thousand dollar tip from a guy a few months ago. I don't remember her giving us dancers any of it, because after all he came in to see strippers (so us dancers "brought" him in) so aren't we entitled to some of it?? I bet she wouldn't be so keen on the idea. (No I don't really think she owes us a dime, just saying how you can always try to justify why you need someone else's money)

Tell me about it...about a month ago, i fell of stage, had serious concussion, couldnt work 3/4 of that night. the manager lets me go home without paying house fee, bouncer tip out, etc. what does the DJ do...tells me I can pay him for that night the next time i wor with him!!!

what the hell?! I had to be carried upstairs and was dizzy for a week, but this guy wants me to pay him $15 for playing music for me for 3 sets (thats all i wound up doing). And im even one of these easy girls who is like 'no, really, i dont care what you play'. He is still after me for it a month later.

He has been on my shit list ever since. Asshole.

Ugh, how ungrateful! When I waitressed it was a pleasant bonus if one of the dancers tipped me for hooking them up- not an obligation. My take was, doing the dancing is difficult enough, they sure as hell deserve every cent. And if I wanted a bigger cut of that dancing money then I should just start dancing myself!

A drink thread would be wonderful!

Do a 50-50 combo of fruit juice and club soda or seltzer for a drink that has more mojo than plain water, but that isn't as sweet as pure juice. Add a little color to your seltzer with cranberry or orange juice.

There are SO many ways to do virgin-versions of real drinks, such as the Salty Puppy (a Salty Dog with the usual grapefruit juice and salted rim but subbing tonic water for gin), a Faux Cosmo (with orange juice and orange syrup instead of vodka and triple sec to mix with the cranberry juice), and Safe Sex on the Beach (2 ounces of cranberry juice, 2 ounces grapefruit or orange juice and 1 ounce of peach nectar) for starters!

    those sound delicious!

I actually get the most requests from girls for 0-calorie (or at least low-calorie) fakes. A lot of girls don't want sugary fruit juices and sodas b/c the calories really add up over the course of a night. 8 oz of most juices/sodas are 100-140 calories. If you drink 5 of those in a night, that's 500-700 extra calories.

The most popular fake is just a shot of "vodka" (water). Easy, simple, takes only a few seconds to drink...and the customers who are pushy about getting girls to drink love it when they do shots.

Because some customers have no manners or sense of boundaries and will actually take your drink and *sniff it* to make sure there's alcohol , I've started putting the "shots" in a rocks glass, and putting a lemon wedge that's been soaked in cheap rail vodka on the side of the glass.

Diet Coke in a rocks glass with ice is another easy calorie-free fake. Again-- lime wedge soaked in cheap liquor on the rim, and you've got that extra bit of realism b/c the drink smells like liquor.

Fruit garnishes also work well to distinguish the dancers' fake drink from a customer's similar-looking real one. Two limes/lemons/oranges/whatever for the dancers' drinks, one for regular drinks.

Apple juice subs well for a shot of cheap tequila (i.e. Cuervo). Flat diet coke = a shot of Jaeger.

What I used to do when I danced was ask for a shot of vodka and a glass of water or diet coke. While in conversation with the customer, I'd pretend to sip on the shot "mmm, this is delicious, thank you", then drink about half of the glass of water, then dump the shot into the half-empty glass when he wasn't looking. Sometimes I still can't believe I did this for 3 years and never once got caught!

The problem is, bar staff can really screw you over in future when they feel slighted on the tipouts. I never advocate over-tipping, but when you have a good night, it is in your best interest to appease the pigs with cash. Unfortunately, staff are feeling the pinch as much as we are, so they will tend to seek their tips more aggressively.

When I have a $night like that, I will make sure the customer tips everyone nicely and throw in extra out of my money. I write it off as "operating/advertising expense" and feel happy to go home with over $1500 cash in my pocket, regardless of how much the customer spent

Then, if anyone bitches, I will remind them how much *I* made the customer tip on top of whatever I gave from my own pocket. It is extremely rare that anyone bitches about my tips. Now more than ever, it is important to stay in the good graces of club staff and management.

Thank god we don't have this to contend with in the UK! I overheard one of my co workers saying about a club that she had heard did this kind of thing and made me LMAO when she said 'I've not been getting my box out all bloody night to give money to that lot who've been standing round doing bugger all' LOL

I have a couple of waitresses who always bring me to customers because they request me or just because they're looking for someone (insert the blank) and I will always come back to take care of them if I end up making a sale.

I always have my customers tip the staff well. I however am not required to tip the servers or bar out at the end of the night and I pay the club to work there so unless you're doing something for me.. I'm not going to be doing shit for you. I like what Faye449's funny quote. It's true! We're the one's working our asses, why should everyone else get a cut just because they happen to 'be there'.

that's different in my opinion, and deserved! they hooked you up, and you should take care of them. however, when someone just puts their hand out because YOU made money and so they think they should..... that shoves a stick pretty far up my butt.
