When you like what you do... the money comes freely. Fun begets more fun, activity breeds activity.
I've had a really great week and a half and thought I'd share. Not just money wise, but it seems like everything is all falling into place.
Friday was fabulous, I was in demand for dances all night and had the dj on the mic looking for me for customer requests! All I was doing was this:
1: Go up to the customer, and greet them.
2: Introduce yourself and tell them you are glad they are there and you'll check back after they've settled in. Maybe chat for a minute, but appear busy and as if you have to go somewhere.
3: Keep your eye on them, and ACTUALLY GO BACK!
Seriously. As much as we like to think it's all about us, this is still a Customer Service and Sales job.
We are providing them with companionship, intimacy on a level, therapy and a show.
I think back to what I always thought a "stripper" should be, a superhuman, classy, intelligent sex goddess who I was lucky to be able to talk to, and the more I've tried to look and act like that, the more in demand I've been. I've had almost every guy I've talked to thank me for not dumbing myself down, and for actually being able to finish a sentence!
Funny enough, the more energy and effort I put into my outfits, look and personal appearance, the more I like the job! I had someone in the VIP area the other night ask me how much dances were, I told him $25. He said " in this economy?! they should be cheaper!" I told him "I'm not cheap, why should my dances be?" He asked about extras. I said this to him:
"I'm sure there are girls in any club who would be happy to oblige you, however, I'm not one of them. " He then thanked me, because he was buying for his table (5 guys, one girl) and didn't want anything dirty happening. They spent A LOT of money on me that night.
My point is this:
- Act like you're having fun, and eventually you will be
- It IS possible to make money being clean, barely drinking, not doing drugs, and not acting "dumb"
- If you think you aren't worth the money, or that you "Can't make it", you won't.
And please, remember this.
Our customers pick us, but We Also Pick Them. If you're uncomfortable in a situation, there's not enough money in the world to make it worthwhile. I choose all my customers. If something happens that I don't like, I make the choice to walk away. I'm worth it, and so are you.
