Thumbs up Tall girls and pole tricks

    Hello ladies,

I was wondering if there are any of you out there who are tall, meaning over 5'10'' and still doing badass pole tricks

I have been dancing for over 7 years, and I am a very good dancer. I do a lot of pole tricks already, but now I'm getting a brass pole installed in my house so I can start working on advanced moves like shoulder mounts, etc. I am just over 5'10'' myself

Whenever I look online at girls dancing, I always see small petite girls doing amazing pole work, but I don't seem to see a lot of tall girls like myself. I know that at work, all the best tricksters are smaller, so bacically I'm looking for some encouragement I guess

so any advice or tips or at least one tall girl telling me that she shoulder mounts easily would be greatly appreciated!!!

    thanks!

I know a girl as tall as you and she wears 7 inch heels. For some reason she enjoys towering over people, anyway she pole dances just like the rest of use, because we have a high enough ceiling. I notice that she has to put a little bit more force into her pole tricks, cause she's gotta get all them legs off the ground, but she just does it.

That was Candice. She looks tall doesn't she! Sometimes you can't tell. Especially when the likes of Felix and Pantera are sooo teeny tiny!
KT Coates is taller than me (I'm 5'8") - but her style is more fitness than dance.

I'm 5'9 1/2 and don't really do pole tricks, even swinging around the pole.Tried that many many years ago and just got a lot of bad bruizes on inner legs. So,don't have much advice for you on pole tricks for tall girls, except for that you can dance just fine and look elegant without doing them at all.

thanks ladies, I will look up the miss australia.

the basic laws of physics does make it a bit more difficult for me, but I tried a shoulder mount last night, almost got it. Man! my traps are sore today!!! and I do wear really high heels too. I try to corner the "giant" market.

My inversions are pretty easy, I just have to watch so that I don't hit the stupid ceiling tiles and get nasty crap all over the floor. stupid low ceilings. I really want to learn that super-woman flying looking trick too. that is actually my ultimate goal. once I do that, I think I will feel whole and complete as a dancer. LOL

    thanks again!!

I love watching tall girls do pole tricks, because their legs are soooooo long and graceful. I think tall girls rock certain pole tricks better--any leggy move, like the Scorpio for example, looks more graceful when it's performed by a long set of legs.

But maybe I just have a weakness for tall girls...

The best pole girl at our club, hands down, is 6'0" without any shoes on. And she really, really looks incredible. I agree with WingedDinghy, I think tall girls look fantastic on the pole, especially with the leggy thing.

I'm 5'10 and I can do tricks!! Also, I wear 7inch heels. Don't get me wrong, some things are harder. I think it took me two months before I could pull off an inversion with any consistency. Generally speaking though, a tall girl can do anything a short one can- we just make it look better. As was said, any kind of leggy move always looks better and more elegant on us, and a shorter ceiling isn't always a disadvantage. The ceiling at my current club is so short that I can touch the ceiling even when I am barefoot. When I have my heels on, I can touch the ceiling with the palms of my hands-- and herein lies the best part! I'm the only one there that can do that, so I do it ALL THE TIME. Most guys think this is way sexy, and that I look like some kind of cat up there. Not only does it help my clumsy self stay balanced when I walk between poles, but, it means I can do a lot of tricks the other girls can't. I'm the only one that can walk on the ceiling, and do a split on the ceiling. (read: $$$.)

I just ordered my x-pole for my house today so I figure out how to work with a higher ceiling. I'll be sure to youtube it when it comes in-- the tall girl special lol.

    tall betches forever!!

I'm 5'8 so not quite as tall- I recently started at a new club abd its great- the money is good and they look after you there- but the pole is so short that I cant do any tricks. Its literally about 4 inches taller than me. Its driving me mad.
