    Default Should I audition

So I have had some real fun the past two weeks since I got back from Vegas. I have done an amatuer contest each weekend and had a lot of fun. The first club was really nice and the girls wore mostly gowns which gave it a classy look too it. They offered me a chance to audition then but I turned it down at the time, but since then I am thinking I may reconsider.

The thing is I have a full time day job and would only be able to work on Friday and Saturday night. Once in a while maybe a week day but not often. I would like to go back to school and get my MBA but don't have the money right now. I took this job because it was a huge opportunity but I don't know anyone outside of work and my roommate so I do have a lot of free time.
I just wanted to see if anyone else was is this position and dancing while having a full time job as well

I've done it - so yes it can be done. You may be tired though.

You will likely be tired, but it is doable. What's the worst that could happen: you have to quit your job? Not a big deal.

I have another part time job, but it doesn't pay (internship). It's been really hard to balance the two lately, because one pays and the other doesn't... and it's been dead and slow with cheapies...

The hours of dancing make it hard to balance another job. I don't get back until at least 5 AM when I work and I can never just go straight to sleep because I need to wind down. I find myself going go bed at 7 AM and waking up at 2, 3 sometimes 4...

But the good thing about dancing is, a lot of clubs won't put you on a schedule. So if you have a night you can work, go in. Don't have a night, don't go in. If you get hired at the club and don't have to give a schedule, you can probably get away with working the weekends and some random weekday that you have nothing to do on.

But, if you're looking to amp up your social life... the SC is not the place to find friends.

I gave them call the other day, auditions will be on Thursday. They are only looking for a few new girls at this point; worth a shot I guess. Anyone have any advise on auditioning at gown clubs?

the 1st club I worked at was a gown club. I bought a robe dress at Fredrick's on sale and wore a bikini top with some booty shorts and t back underneath i spent a total of $100 bucks. Any sexy heels will work until u get the job. as for make up i would do smokey eyes its sexy and simple. for hair it depends on the length, loose curls for longer sleek straight with some volume for shorter. ask them if its strictly audition or if they expect a shift. if its just going to do a one song dance just get a short dress for the stage and a solid t back to match.

Legs avenue has some decent cheap gowns that are available at most adult stores or also feelings.com has some nice outfits if they can be shipped quickly, just keep in mind that most things are sold with sheer panties so double check n by a solid pair. do a search in the forums here i know they have listing of web stores where u can buy your everyday needs i.e. garters, thongs jewelry if you decide to take the job. sometimes the web store have better offer or they bundle the items at a discounted place.

OK, i'm done for know ask if you have any other questions

Hey thanks for the advice, the audition is tomorrow I'm so nervous. I took a half a day off from my day job in order to get ready and drive there. I hope it goes well. For an outfit I have plenty of cloths that I wear to the office that can work with. Should be interesting to say the least, wish me luck.

My first year of stripping I was teaching 5th grade Monday-Friday, dancing on the weekends.

That was my last year of teaching elementary school.

My audition went fantastic... when I got there the club was closed to patrons and I was taken to one of the champagne rooms to wait with a few other girls. One by one we went back to talk to the house mom, when it was my turn I was nervous but she turned out to be really cool. After that was a dance on their center stage. That felt weird just her and a few other dancers that where just hanging out before their shifts started. But it went over well, I practiced at home even had my roommate critique me before hand so I would have an idea what I was doing. When my song was over I of course was naked at that time. She got up on the stage and just walked around me a few times examining me; felt a little creepy yes. Then she told me 'Can you start Saturday'.

OMG! I am so excited... I start tomorrow. I don't have much for gowns or costumes. I decided for now to ware an old brides maid dress that I have which was never worn and I'll just pull together a sexy secretary look from the cloths that I have for now. This is going to be so much fun!!!

    Words of caution and encouragement:

Stripping can be a fun job with lots of benefits, but the reality of working in a strip club is FAR different from doing amateur contests where all you do is go on stage for an audience that is already excited to see the "amateurs".

If you are dead-set on pursuing your current career, be aware that once you start dancing you may get completely side-tracked from that. It happens a lot, and most girls who quit their jobs to strip either lose focus or end up stripping just to make ends meet and spending all their money frivolously.

I don't mean to sound gloom and doom at all! Some girls treat stripping as a business and make it work beautifully. There are a few notable examples on this site. They are not representative of the norm, but they are examples of what can be done

Bottom line: approach the whole thing with a level head and realistic goals and expectations, and it can a very positive endeavor.

I had such a fun night on Saturday, it was so crazy and I had no idea what I was doing half the time, lol. I got some stage time and that so exciting. It was nothing like the amatuer contests I did; except for the naked part, lol. Made some money, about $250 my first night. All in all not to bad I think, I work next this Friday and Saturday night. I want to get about 3 more gowns and a few costumes for the stage. Looks like I will be going shopping, anyone have any good idea's.

    Go girl!!

Snaz75.com is a great site, but they sell a bunch of different brands, so sometimes you may buy something you don't like. Stay away from Elegant Moments and whatnot. Bodyzone is a great stripper brand (really well-made stuff), along with their higher-end gown makers. I'm sure other people can pitch in some advice too...

Thanks for the advise, I have several items off there site including three new gowns. I can't wait to wear them this weekend. I bought several costumes too so this should make for a fun weekend.
