    Default Blonde to Brown

Ive had platnium blonde hair for the last like 4 years and Im wanting a change. I want to have it light brown but was thinking of keeping abit of the blonde..like highlights. But now I have read that getting bleach blonde hair to stay brown can take 6 monthes to a year because the colour won't stick and fade out in about 4 weeks or abit longer if lucky.. that seems alllott of effort... is there noway around it and I really dont want to cut my hair off?

I'm not really sur where you heard that about the hair color but I actually put a gloss on my hair a few weeks ago and it made it alot darker.

what is a glosss.. I never heard of it lol

This is what a I read on a different forum (it wasnt my topic it was someone elses but I dont really post there so I posted here lol) So I just wondered if this is true from other peoples experiences as Ive only gone from dark to light not light to dark

''I have several clients who have been doing heavy highlights for years and when they want low lights or and wantin to go back to their natural it is not easy and it's a long process....it sometime takes 6 months or more for the low lights to stick in the hair again.

With highlighting you have subtracted most or all of the pigment out of the hair, it's kinda like a glass with a crack in it....for awhile the water stays in but eventually it leaks out. You can have the sections with the low lights filled or re-pigmented first before the low light color goes on but it still will not guarantee staying power. You have a week or two before color starts to fade out.''

I am not too crazy about blonde women. I prefer brunettes. But if I have to pick a blonde, I would pick a brown head with the blonde highlights. I think that is sexy.

Well, I'm not white, so I'm no expert and blond to brown BUT here's a suggestion.

Check out this girl Kayden Kross (her blog is - there are some pics of her there).

She's a VERY popular pornstar right now and is classified as a blond but if you look at her hair only the top third of her hair is REALLY blond - the rest is light brown. That coloring style seems as though it would be much easier on your hair overall and appearance wise gives more dimension.

Yeah I am planning on getting it done proffesionally its just not very encouraging that it will keep fading. I will just have to go for it and once Ive had it done once make the decision if i like it enough to keep getting it re-done or let it fade back, I might post some pics. Thank you

Ive gone from blonde to red, to brown...
I was also a veryyy light blonde. I first dyed it dark blonde. It looked more brown than blonde but with a few washings it lightened up. than after a month, i went to a light brown dye, waited a month, dyed it medium brown..and so on...
so yeah the whole process took a few months but i ended up paying $10 a pop(since i did it myself) and now i have really nice brown hair and i love it

I just recently did the same thing..I had been bleaching, bleachin, bleaching until I got totally blondey blonde with platinum highlights, then I had enough of the expense, and dry hair. My natural color is a very deep espresso brown.

My colorist had to use one color on my incoming deep roots (to make them more blendable) then put a filler color (to fill in all the of base color between blonde and brown, so that you dont get that see thru brown green look) on the whole head for several minutes. After that, she used a regular brown rinse on my hair and now the whole thing matches. Everyone tells me i look a lot younger and it feels so much healthier!

It will rinse out a bit, and you will probably need touch ups , but probably just with your regular color. It all depends on your hair. If your hair is very dry from being colored, you will probably soak up the color pretty well. Its been nearly a month and my color has not faded. Best bet is to go back to your natural color. That way, if you do get any roots coming in you can leave them. Fall is the time for change!

    Good luck!

Because 99% of the dancers on here think you suck.

OP, why not put some dark panels in it for dimension? I did that and loved it.

A gloss can add some subtle color or can be done in clear. It is a deposit only process to make your hair shiny and look healthy (although I'm not sure it actually makes it healthier!) but they are amazing and I've been doing them for years!

when you add color back into your hair it makes it healthier, depending on how dark you want your hair you will need to go a few steps darker because yes it will fade out. once your hair has processed if you decide to keep blond in it it will not mess with the color. go to a hair saloon and get it done. it will turn ash if you do it yourself.
