Default Forcing customers to get a lap dance/tip

I work at an alcohol club and sometimes I get so mad when customers come in just to drink or to play pool I think that all strip clubs should implement some type of extra fee in the cover charge to make sure every customer spends at least SOME money on us girls who have to pay to give them a free show.
Wouldn't it be awesome if, along with whatever cover charge, each customer had to pay 20 bucks (or whatever lap dances are at the club) which they get back in "funny money" which can be used to either buy a dance or tip your favorite dancer? Just a fun thought, I doubt it will ever get implemented because a lot of clubs care more about drink sales that dance sales.
There is one "regular" at my club in particular who goes in and stares at the girls all night for free, never gets a dance, and money showers the bartender and tips the dj, probably the security as well, as if to say "fuck you dancers you dont deserve any of my money but everyone else does.) it gets on my nerves big time

hmm customers like that do annoy me but i apreciate them because they do bring money into the club which would otherwise be taken in floor fees and commission, i used to work in a club whih had student night and they would give them free entry and some drinks for a pound, i just went back to try it again yesterday and they have changed it so they charge entry and give them a dance ticket, it makes things a whole lot easier when you know everyone there has a dance token - no crap about being skint x

I'm still reeling over the existence of the pool table in the titty bar! THAT seems like bad business practice. Last I heard, they had those at regular bars where people have to make their own entertainment. Something like that, in my opinion, has NO place in an environment with pre-existing entertainment staff.

In terms of mandatory dance tokens, eh. I'd take or leave the idea. I'd sooner recommend that you accidentally stumble into the pool table with an axe. Then all the customers that were looking at their game could start looking at YOU, and spending money on YOU.

^^ turn the pool tables into a money-making tool. I like to bet lapdances on pool games (i.e. "if you win, you get a free lapdance. If I win, you have to buy two.")

Of course, I act like I'm really bad at pool, and then once they agree to the bet, my game comes out and I beat their asses. I've only lost twice, and both times I did actually keep my word and give them a (very short) free dance. Both guys were good sports and gave me some money anyway.

lol I love doing that, I need to work on my game some more. I always bet one to five dances, I had one guy bet twenty dances to me going on a date with him. I kicked his ass and walked out with almost a 1k in tips.

from the clubowner's perspective, they would be 'shooting themselves in the foot' by forcing the purchase of $20 in 'funny money' by each club customer. The club already earns $10 or whatever from the cover charge, and earns perhaps another $5 from the two drink minimum, but would earn little or nothing from the mandatory 'funny money' purchase. On the flip side, customers being required to spend a minimum of (around) $40 for the cover charge + 2 drinks + $20 in mandatory 'funny money' would put off a certain percentage of customers, causing the club to LOSE $15 for each potential customer who doesn't come into the club.

From a customer perspective, nobody likes being told how they must spend their money. While customers don't particularly like paying cover charges or buying 2 mandatory drinks ( at perceived rip-off prices), the same customers acknowledge that every club in town imposes the same charges and tacitly agree to spend this money if they want to enter ANY club in town. But having one and only one club enact a $20 minimum 'funny money' purchase is an entirely different story. Just like US businesses that must charge more for their products than 'foreign' competitors due to the higher minimum wage, higher energy costs, higher taxes etc., imposing a higher 'minimum' on every customer entering that particular club would quickly mean lost profits for that club and higher profits for lower cost 'competitor' clubs !

I would not go to that club as a customer, so I wouldn't blame any other customers for feeling that way. The first time I went to a strip club was long before I started dancing. I left without buying a dance because the girls were fat and ugly. I realize that sounds mean, but you know, I went there for a good time and getting a lapdance from a "stripper" who is in worse shape than I was, a stay at home mom at that time, seemed incredibly pathetic to me.

If they had made me bought funny money, I would have given it to the bartender instead of the dancers and suggested that management try hiring girls rather than cows. I realize how harsh that sounds but I can see a lot of men getting pissed off if they have to buy dances and they don't see anyone they want to get a dance from.

Omg a TON of places around here have pool tables! Even nude places! In my club the pool tables are in a completely separate room too with little windows so guys playing pool can stare at us for free while we're on stage

lol I suck at pool so I never thought of doing that but maybe I'll try that when its super slow. Otherwise spending a half hour playing pool for possibly 2 dances is a waste of my time.

eh, i did say the funny money can be used as a tip, so if you dont want to buy dances you can just use it to tip a girl you like (kind of like a money shower but without a bunch of dollarbills)
I live in a town where most clubs get a cut or at least a "tip" from every dance we do anyway so clubs would in fact be gaining something from doing this. honestly i think if you are not going to spend 20 measly bucks on the girls at the club you dont belong at a strip club, go to a regular bar and stop wasting our time! If all the girls are "fat and ugly" then thats your fault for going for a low end bar and not researching before you got there.

and I don't know any club that charges 40 bucks as their normal cover charge..except Mitchell Brothers...which isnt really a strip club.

Why dont you work at a club that is less of a hangout for these guys and more of a stripclub? Drink hustle places could care less about how much money YOU make, only about how much money you make the club. Change clubs.

And who cares about the dude tipping everyone but dancers. Don't let the dude who sits there every night stress u out, he is there because he is lonely, bored, whatever reasons. You are there to work and it seems like this is not the best working environment for you

well yeah, I only do this when it's slow, like early in the evening or on most Tues/Wed nights. If you're not good at pool, you can always play topless for a price. That works well for me on some nights too.

if such a club existed...I would be the first in line to audition.
Btw I do not work at a place with a drink minimum. In fact some guys in there just go in and dont buy a drink at all! and we are not supposed to sell drinks either, thats the waitresses job. I have worked at clubs where girls had to sell lady drinks and I hated it because the girls did not even get a cut yet had to pay for the drinks if they didnt sell em!

    Just one?

At my last club there were droves of them.

"Oh, I'm too broke for a dance....I'm too broke to tip on stage".....blah blah blah...yackety smackety

THEN proceed to sit at the bar till closing, shots all around, beers, lovely compliments and ridiculous tips for the bitchy bartender, tips for the bouncers, and tips for the Dj for playing song requests.

NOW there is nothing wrong with liking to get fucked up and hear good music.....I'd be a hipocrit to say I'm not.....that is what a regular
B-A-R is for with a jukeboxor band or whatever.

I'd also love when none of the dancers would be making money, and the general buzz about amongst the girls is that all the guys kept saying they had no money for dances....BUT waitresses are walking out with $700 in tips. Sit in front of the stage and watch with tounges wagging, no dollar for naked girl up there on the pole but plenty of tips for waitress.

At one club I worked at they tried to institute buying a dance. This club had no cover charge, no drink minimum, so there were a few who'd come in and get a soft drink (or even the free water) and drink it for hours. It came to the point where they'd have these cheapos who wouldn't spend a dime (wouldn't even tip the bartender or waitress), who would sit at the stage and not tip. The manager got insults every night from the dancers who were angry they had to dance for these guys (and still paid house). The owner then decided to charge a cover charge, a certain drink minimum (I want to say two drinks an hour), and prebuying a dance (they got a coupon). The good thing is these guys stopped coming, the bad things is it scared away potential customers. Then the club was empty. The club ended up going out of business. Can't blame the predance buying completely. I have to blame the club for not being stricter on cover charge and drink minimums.
