Skull I have the greasiest hair ever.

So. I just moved back to California (from a super dry state) about a month ago... and I'm finding suddenly... that I have THE GREASIEST HAIR EVER!

I used to wash it about every second or every third day with no problems. It still looked okay on the third day. But suddenly... my hair is DISGUSTING by the end of one day!
I didn't have this problem last time I lived in CA [I think because I was using a blonde high-lift for my ultra-white mohawk so it was super dry] and I've never had this problem before in my life. Who knows... maybe it's a body-chemistry thing as opposed to a climate thing.
Either way... the result is that by the end of the day, i can practically slick my hair back with all the oil.

Soo. What do I do with this?
    Halp plz?

    *edit*
Aside from the obvious answer of "wash it every day until it's dry and frizzy and miserable again".

Do you have blonde hair by chance? My sister has greasy greasy greasy hair but she's blonde so she uses baby powder on her roots and it sucks up the grease (on brown hair the baby powder makes the color all weird.)

You can buy dry shampoo, get some toner (yes face toner) on some cotton wool and rub it where the grease is it helps soak it up, google maybe some hair masks for greasy hair that might help. If you have any days where you dont have to face the world you should try to not wash your hair then as the more you wash your hair the more it makes oils.

Wash it and add apple cider vinegar to your rinsing water. Sorry that this includes washing it again but it's the best way to get out grease.

Dishwashing soap cuts grease and works on greasy hair! It can dry your scalp out though! Use Head and Shoulders on a regular basis!

The best shampoo for greasy hair is VO5 ... I know you are asking for if you don't have time for a shower ... but this is still my answer. I have really REALLY long, blonde hair ... and Being the lazy college kid I am, i use VO5 and if I miss a shower, you can't even tell! My Advice ... Try that shampoo! ... ooo ... and go light on conditionin g the TOP of your head ... hair ... ... don't put it on your scalp as much as on the rest. Conditioner is what makes hair all funky ...

I found these on google. Hope it helps.

Apple cider vinegar is good stuff. Rinsing with it actually helps to balance the pH of your hair.

Take 1 tablespoon baking soda + 4 tablespoons apple cider vinegar and rub it on your scalp. Leave on for 5-7 minutes, then shampoo.

But don’t wash your hair everyday. Stimulating the scalp will make it secrete excess oil. Oh, and drink plenty of water.

    Hope that helps!

Black actually. So baby powder doesn't quite cut it.

I will try this apple cider vinegar suggestion, thanks guys.

I was just going to suggest that!!! On brown hair or red hair you can sometimes get away with using a loose make-up powder, just make sure you get a really cheap brand because you'll use it really fast.

In cali, the reason why your hair feels so greasy is the SMOG. California air quality is not good at all, in general.

Use a shampoo/condisioner that protects against FREE RADICALS, you should also use this in your skincare.

I have started washing with conditioner only, only use a no sulfate shampoo like once a week. It has helped my hair, with less shampooing you are stripping less of the hairs natural oils and your scalp produces less oil. To learn more about this shampoo less method go to naturallycurly dot com. Even if your hair is straight, (mine is partially with different textures) this shampoo free method will drastically improve your hair fo rthe better.

Dont discount the baby powder method, I have black hair too!! The secret is to dust the baby powder into your scalp, and scalp only, then comb thru. If it appears white pat it until it disappears, it will eventually. With this I can go even longer without shampooing, is great for a quick fix and does more or less what a dry shampoo will do, and will leave your hair smelling fresh.
