    Default Question about school/scheduling

I just started at an awesome new club and am loving it so far, knock on wood. I start up school and my teaching job soon, and will only have two days a week available to work at the club. They have a 3 day/week rule for dancers, which will be impossible for me. In others' experience, have clubs been ok with bending their rules to accommodate student schedules? This club is pretty strict, but still management is nice and understanding (midtown Manhattan). I feel weird being the new girl asking for concessions, but I really don't want to jeopardize the job!

usually the club will bend the rules for school, another job or other reasons they deem important, so i don't think they'll turn you down
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

Wait...you said you are teaching? It would be VERY scandolous if you are teaching AND stripping...dare I say, nearly illegal due to Moral clauses in a contract...This is the reason I do not strip and teach. I don't want to jeapordize my teaching career.

Otherwise, ask your manager. Some are pretty understanding, and others are not. You may end up making a decision which is worth more to you: stripping, school, and other job.

Im in the same boat. I go to school M-F in the day. A club I got hired at wants me to work days only And they have that 3 day rule. I really want to work there so Im torn, should I take more time off from work till I can work nights too, or just miss 1 day a week from school? Both arent good or in my best interests, but they say they are full for the nights.

My club has the same 3 day a week minimum, with 2 weekends a month required also. They told me that they would be very lenient with my school schedule, which i simply need to take to them once I am enrolled. Then again, this is a small southern club with awesome management, so I don't know if that helps you out at all.

Can you do Friday nights and a double on Saturday? I know it's a lot but maybe you can handle it?

Could you specify which age group you're teaching? If it's college level it's less of an issue, but if you're teaching minors it could get ugly if someone finds out.

Yes its college courses and I think my department values itself as very progressive in terms of sexual (and sex work) politics. Of course, a department does not = HR, but I never signed any contract. God, though, it would piss me off if I or any other dancer were considered unsuitable to work as an educator, such B.S.

I think I will ask the manager about the 2 day/week schedule immediately after my next champagne room sale. It can't hurt

I wish I could do the weekend bit but I really can't. That'd literally leave me with no time to read for school, prep for teaching, write and research.

? Why couldn't you just work Sat Sun or Fri Sat nights? that way you'd have five days a week dedicated to class and class prep
