straight up with a lil bit of pepper! i used to be lactose intollerant, but cottage cheese intake helped fix that! i love it, i eat it with fruit and a bit of toast for breakfast.... or chicken and it for lunch. or even it by itself for a snack!

try the organic stuff from trader joes to start - it's so good! don't get the cheap stuff, and don't go under 4%.... it's too soupy! also, don't eat too much, cuz it'll be counterproductive.

I personally don't mind skim cottage cheese.

I eat it with fruit on it-preferable frozen fruit because when it defrosts the juice is yummy when mixed with the CC.

Sometimes, I'll just put some stevia/honey/agave nectar on it with a bit of cinnamon.

Othertimes, I put Almond, Vanilla, and/or Banana extract in with it.

Occassionally, mixing half CC and half Yogurt is good too!

You can make smoothies with it as well.

    Enjoy!

    I cottage cheese with:

    - peanut butter on lettuce
    - baked sweet potatoes
    - baked potatoes, fresh chives, s+p
    - Kashi GoLean Crunch
    - mashed garbanzo beans, sweet relish, minced onion, grated carrot, s+p
    - grated radishes, grated cukes, sliced green onions, s+p
    - fresh dill, lemon juice, garlic salt + Triscuits
    - strawberry gelatin
    - berries + balsamic vinegar
    - cherry tommies, s+p <--- *For variety, add one or more of the following: avocado, capers, sunflower seeds, Baco's, Spanish olives or balsamic vinegar

For the savory recipes, serve w/toasted sprouted grain bread + German style mustard.

    Yummers!

One of my favourite things as kid was a slice of bread, covered in a layer of cottage cheese, covered with a sprinkling of brown sugar.

Now instead of brown sugar I put honey on the bread and the cottage cheese on top. YUM. I don't eat much bread so I go for either a low-yeast spelt bread or whole grains.

For a quick, lazy snack I eat cottage cheese with no sugar added/all natural apple sauce. I love all of these other recommendations! Yum.

Dang, papillon scooped me on honey and cinnamon!
a smoothie is also a really good idea, especially if the texture grosses you out.
I like putting some into an orgy of different fruits, mixing it all up into a party of fruit and cheese, and digging in.
I'll second minalynx on the GoLean Crunch rec, and demonika on the applesauce...
oh hell, I guess I don't have much to add, you ladies already know the ways of the cottage cheese!
BonsoirBella--soooo scooping that idea! sounds dee-leecious!

My neighbor uses c.c. in lasagna, ziti & noodle kugel. If you hate the texture, try blending it. To get something like feta cheese that you can crumble over salads, etc., try straining it through cheesecloth overnight in the fridge.
