    Default Facial redness?

I used to have a very even skin tone despite having blemishes. Now the blemishes are gone but I have noticed an increased degree of faint redness in my skin tone, especially around my nose, on my chin and in between my eyebrows. It's not serious but it's impossible to cover up with makeup, even green-tinted foundations or primers. Does anyone have any idea about what causes this- maybe my skin is just beginning to age a little? Any ideas about how to reduce it internally by ingesting particular foods or drinks or remedy it naturally?

    Thanks ladies

I don't know if it will help but Pineapple (fresh not canned or juice) can reduce inflammation. AT least give it a shot.

Ahh, I didn't know pineapple was an anti-inflammatory. I don't eat it much because of the sucrose but maybe I'll try it in small quantities.

The triderma stuff definitely sounds promising. Too bad it's not available in Canada Oh well, next time I'm in the states I'm definitely going to track it down.

    Thanks!!

honey i'm fair as fuck with rosy cheeks. Try swiping Phillip's Milk of Magnesia on before bed and sleep with it on, then check yourself in the mirror in the morning. Get the original kind, not flavored. Lemme know how it works out for you, I love it.

My esthetician told me that those are tiny little capillaries causing the flushed redness. I could be inflammation, in which case a good quality fish oil taking 3x a day and Curcumin (Tumeric Root) are phenomenal for calming inflammation. It could also be sun damage coming to the surface. Photofacials will get rid of it, but it takes a series of treatments. Chemical peels won't help much. Taking some good antioxidants may reverse some of it, but they will definitely prevent future damage and aging. Taking green tea pills, or just ECGC (ingredient in green tea) or anything with polyphenols is great for your skin, in particular. The specific antioxidant (polyphenols) found in green tea kind of build up in your skin creating a barrier against free radicals and damaging UV rays. I take broad spectrum antioxidants and green tea pills and drink green tea. I know some girls who break open the tea bags and put it all over their faces, like a mask, but that may be overkill. I'm pretty obsessive when it comes to anti aging. If you think it's inflammation, watch your dairy and red meat consumption, also quit smoking if you smoke, and watch your alcohol intake. All these things are major contributors to arachidonic acid, and too much of that will cause immune responses like what you describe. Often times, it shows up in your skin first. You can say that again.. not just on here but men in general. Guys are so damn lame, the only way they can halfway make up for it is by opening their wallets.

^^Okay, that makes a LOT of sense. I used to drink a fair amount of green tea and take fish oil supplements, and I've stopped both, which really does coincide with the beginning of this redness. I'm going to get back on that and see what happens!
