Arrow Conversation starters- FROM a customer

This might fit more in the Hustle Hut forum, but since I can't post there...

There's alot of chatter from Dancers about what you can 'break the ice' with to get a chance to sit down and sell him a dance, which are mostly trial and error then sticking with what has worked best for you in the past.

Ladies: What can a CUSTOMER say to you that makes you want to sit down and talk a little?? (...Besides "I'm a trust fund baby and I have $40,000 in cash on me")

Understanding the business is mostly about getting the most dances you can in a night $$$$, you still need to make some customers feel comfortable before the wallet starts to open...

And guys: what do you find that dancers want to talk about most? (unlikely you want to get into a discussion about shoes and they sure as hell probably don't want to hear about your wife or kids unless you are dealing $20 bills like cards at a poker table)

My favorite opener is "are you ready to do some dances for me?"

they seem to like that one.

    I like this topic idea!

Hmm. I'm pretty easy. If a guy smiles at me, I always go see him, even if he is beckoning me from a little ways away. I also like enthusiasm: When I ask how you are, I LOVE getting answers like "Better now that you're here!" or "Pretty great, and yourself?". I guess that's because when I am asked the same thing, I always give an enthusiastic answer and smile.

I know on here sometimes I sound like a bitter bitch, but I really like talking to customers about almost anything. I just have one cardinal rule: you don't want to know about my problems, I don't want to know about yours. Keep it lighthearted and positive, and thou shalt be bestowed with boobs.

If you want a dancer to come talk to you, try tipping at the rack. doesn't have to be a lot, just a few bucks. Because honestly, when I get off stage I'm definitely more likely to approach the guys who have tipped me over the ones that did not.

If she's been on the floor, try offering her a drink. That'll usually keep her around chatting for a little bit.

And FYI- if I walked up to a guy and he said "I have a trust fund, I have thousands of dollars in cash on me!" - red flag that he's full of it. Guys who have a lot of money and want to spend it don't need to talk about it. It's the guys that don't who make up shit like that.

^^^ I abosolutely agree with Elvia. In my experience one of the best conversation starters is a $20 stage tip. It takes the edge off, and makes it far easier for a dancer to sit down and chat for a bit. With the pressure off, the conversation can progress organically in any direction.

No offense but to me it kind sounds like you are trying to hustle future dancers into spending more time talking with you and less time dancing! Just be yourself, and remember that if you arent tipping/buying dances most business minded women will move on! The only time I have stuck around with guys is if they have bought dances and/or bordeom. Usually our minimum is 5 mins of conversation, up to 10 mins in a no hustle club, so keep this in mind. SUre you see dancers chatting up guys all night, but they have more then likely tipped the dancer for her time. You should do the same and if you do not, dont take it personal. We are here to do business, not chat.

word. i couldn't care else what a guy talks about. i can carry the conversation on the floor, as well as for hours in the back. and i don't mean that i talk the whole time - i can keep a guy talking for hours, so noone needs to worry about conversation topics with me. and on the floor i don't care, i'm just thinking about how to better get your money
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

I like to just say hi and ask how they are doing and let the conversation move to him/her, it lets them talk about things they normaly don't get to talk about.

i have never understood why guys like to say things such as "its dead in here" or "how do you make money, there's no customers?" especially after i have already told them that im actually having a pretty good night. but no, they go right back with the its dead in here talk. when i've asked them why they say that they always say they're just making conversation but i know im a pretty good conversationalist and i can talk, get them to open up and keep a conversation going about pretty much anything if only they would lay off the negativity.

so i guess what im asking is: why do customers insist on wanting talk about that and generally bring the mood down?

^^ It sounds like well, they perceive it as being dead... sure, maybe you are having a pretty good night, but you don't need the place to be full of people partying, you just need enough guys to get dances to keep you working... which could be just one guy! But the custies probably want to be in a place full of people partying... it is more fun that way... and if there are not a lot of customers it can be harder to stretch out those dollars, (even if you are planning on spending them in the club). I'm usually dismayed when I walk into a club and it feels empty, and no doubt I've uttered the lame phrases you describe....

I plead guilty. I have said that when I first got there and ask if it has been that way all day. I ask for information purposes but will now word it differentially.

I now try to avoid the questions the dancers on this site complain about only to find dancers ITC volunteering that information. It is almost like they expected my to ask.

If she is sitting with me at my table (I will tip them $3 on stage to get them there usually), after the small talk (see below) and mentioning I am VIP (assuming I find her attractive and like what she's said so far), I usually will ask how long she has been dancing at the club and if she likes to play. I might show her two or more Bens as I do this or ask her what she thinks of my money clip (a gold plated Walking LIbety Half) which usually has 10 - 12 Bens or more. If they will not will sit with me off the bat and at least talk to me and simply walk up to my table asking if I will take a dance, something I find annoying, I will say "Well tell me this honey - do you like to play?" If she says yes, then I may take her upstairs to VIP and take 2 dances then see where we go from there......

Everybody is worried about convo, but the real power in a SC is money. However when talking with a dancer I try to find out why she is dancing (without being judgemental), how she likes it, if she's going to school, and see if she will discuss future plans. I will fit the pieces of that into the things I do or have going on to see if there is a common ground. I stay away from personal questions like age, marital status, kids and instead let them bring that up. I usually dress nice going to a SC, usually sport coat and nice professional shirt and slacks. Good looking shoes can almost always make a difference and once you show them you can converse intelligently they will start to see money which we all know is the main ingredient of stripper wealth. Last year I spent $21,000 on girls (mainly strippers) and while at times I feel this would have bought a lot of other nice things it beat going to Europe and for vacation I spent about $600 spending a few days in Chicago instead plus around $800 on activities with a gal I met at a SC there. Consequently, I did not go on the lake dinner cruise without a date....or just go back to the room alone. Chicago has so many beautiful women, just seeing them on the bus during summer in their short shorts is a treat.....Girl watching was as large a part of the fun as the river Arcitectural Tour.

I like SC gals with tats; they really turn me on, especially if they like to play.

^^ I just tell them that the men in the daytime are usually quality over quantity.... and that it's more about having an actual connection with someone (before doing a string of dances) than jumping from guy to guy to guy all night (who are all just getting single dances).

BTW, Jake, any man who goes out of his way to show me his money without GIVING IT TO ME at the same time, I label a douche in my mind until he does give it to me. I'll pretend that I think they're the big man in the club, that he must be SOOOOO cool and SOOOO established.

Give me a fucking break. I don't give a shit how much you have. I only care about how much is going to end up being mine. Most men have a least a few grand in the bank. The only thing that makes you different is that you carry it in cash and try to use it to feel powerful.

Having money doesn't make you powerful in a SC. Spending it, however, does. Keep doing that.

I dunno I'm probably the weirdest stripper in the world in that I usually do act like myself. Aside from giving away too much personal information I talk about things that actually do interest me (as opposed to reading the Sports Pages and pretending to like baseball). I am a talkative person anyway though!
