    There are so many factors that go into this....how hard you dance, what you're eating habits are like, your metabolism, age, etc...

    For me, I have put on about 15 lbs since quitting dancing. There are two reasons for this: I have started working a normal job and going to school, so less time to work out, and I just don't care as much about being at a dancing weight. This is the weight my body has always defaulted to when I am not watching myself super close. It's annoying-I don't like being here (ideally I would like to lose 10 lbs), but right now there is not much I can do about it.

    My BFF, who has quit dancing, has kept at her dancing weight. This is because she devotes time to exercising and watches her food to stay there. She works out HARD 4-6 days a week for 1-2 hours a day. She eats enough to stay at that weight.

    Take your own conclusions from this.

    I have dropped a dress size since I started dancing (by accident) and I think its got a lot to do with my body clock being ruined. If I have a meal before leave for work at 7pm, arrive home about 5am, walk my dogs til 6am then sleep til lunchtime...........(you can see where I'm going with this lol)

    A big reason Im fiending to stay on the pole is because its such a great workout, and keeps my weight down easier so I dont have to work out as hard. Stripping seems to be very efficient; get payed to workout, party, boost ego sometimes lol..
    So I thought I would ask you ladies a couple of things;
    1) do you all think that stripping keeps weight low because we know people will see us naked all the time, or is it from the actual physical stress of the job?
    and
    2) What is with all the tiny tiny anorexic looking dancers? Im a size 0, literally. 5'5, 120 lbs on a bad day, 34-24-36 and I often find myself the largest girl in the clubs when I did work...so wtf? Even when i had a bad eating disorder there were ALWAYS skinnier chickas!!! its very odd to me...
    3) Am I going to have to starve myself the rest of my life to keep at "dancer weight" once ive quit for good?

    thanks
    1) It keeps weight low because of the physical nature of the job.
    2) I find it extremely offensive to be called a tiny anorexic looking dancer. We are human beings too.
    3) You don't have to starve yourself just be very active and eat well.

    stripping doesn't keep weight down for many dancers.

    a paleo diet will keep the weight down (grass-fed meat, wild deep-ocean fish like salmon, shellfish, nuts, fruit with a focus on berries, leafy greens and vegetables, but no corn/soy/wheat/beans/rices/white potatoes). it's a wonderfully tasty diet and completely healthy. it lowers cholesterol and all that as well.
