Default OH No! He recognized me!

I had my first experience with someone I know coming into the club and recognizing me, only I didn't even know it!!!!!!

A friend of mine who I haven't seen in a couple months sent me a facebook message the other saying he wanted to talk to me. He called me last night while I was at work.

Him: I haven't heard your voice in a while.
Me: I know! What did you want to talk about?
    Him: Nothing particular.
Me: You made it sound particular
Him: Well, I guess it is, but I don't know how to bring it up.
    Me: Just lay it out.
Him: A couple buddies and I went to The Penthouse 2 Fridays ago.

    looooooooooooooooooooong awkward pause

Me: Well why didn't you say hi?
Him: I was too awkward, so we left.

OMG! I almost had a heart attack at first, because that was NOt what I was expecting. Honestly I didn't feel that weird about the idea of him being there, I felt more offended that he didn't at least say hi. But then he went on to tell me that he told another friend of ours (who thank GOD I had already told).

Just makes me wonder if there have been other people who have come in and recognized me, left, and didn't say anything....

Was he a close friend or something?

And aren't you a little bothered that he told someone else under the pretext that he didn't think they knew?

You should get on his good side and ask him not to tell anyone. Make up some BS just to get on his good side.

He sounds like a former flame/fling?

Not a close close friend, just a friend, not a lover, fling, anything like that. he actually used to come out with me and my girlfriends for ladies night every week. And yes it does bother me that he told my other friend without knowing that she already knew (although he says he only told her because he knew she knew.... that makes no sense - unless, she spilled the beans to him, either way I am frustrated and wish people could just keep their mouths closed. I'm going to talk to her tonight and find out EXACTLY what happened, because she told me about the encounter with him, but just conveniently left out the part that they talked about my job)

Sorry for the rant. I just wish people wouldn't make such a big deal out of it.

I know that you are not too bothered by this but for the sake of anyone who reads it... The longer you are in the business the less things like this will bother you. Although it's weird to feel this way, you get desensitized. I mean, you audition and there's what a handful of people there, maybe a few more you just don't notice because of the nerves. The first shift you work there's 30 people there, then 50 the next . Then you have an awesome Sat. night and 150 people are in your club at once, plus the pther girls and staff. Now around 200 people have seen you naked. Now after a few months of dancing this number is a few thousand. and so on and on and so on. Until you feel just as comfortable (if not more so)_ naked than dressed.

That's so true Gia. I remember the thought of someone seeing me at work used to terrify me, now it hardly phases me.
