Default What songs would you like to hear in a pole dancing class?

So I am teaching a pole dancing class for beginners. I plan on doing floor work and basic pole work for an hour then let each person show there own routine. I am trying to figure out what type of music you would like to hear if you were in the class. I listen to a lot of slower, sensual things and just don't feel this will fit. Thanks for the help.

    Fever, by Madonna
Hey Big Spender, by Valerie Day
    Wild Thing, by The Troggs
    Thunderstruck, by AC/DC
    Red House, by Jimi Hendrix
    Closer, by Nine Inch Nails
Cradle of Love, by Billy Idol

I see these as stripper classic songs. Your beginners should like the selection and probably have certain expectations of what music a stripper would like to dance to.

What's the demographic of your class? I really like industrial rock but a bunch of 30-40 yr. old house Mom's may not.

I would go for estrogen laden music, real "female power" Paula Cole type stuff.

I noticed you are in my area....where are you teaching your pole dancing class? I drive 2.5 hours to go to mine, so I'd be interested in hearing more about yours.

The music they used in my last class was TLC "Red Light Special"---we did our exotic dance to that....and I think "Lets get it on" for the other half of class.

If it's any help, one of the reasons I didn't take more than 2 pole classes is that the instructor (30-something woman) didn't play anything other than hip-hop or hip-hopish pop. Cliche stripping songs, if you will.

I think the best songs to make a woman feel sexy dancing are not about sex, but about excitement, having fun! When I'm in an elevated mood is when I feel the most sexy. I'm sure many women would agree.

I think the most FUN music to do floorwork to (but not what I usually dance to in the club) came from our parents' generation: Zeppelin, Areosmith, +1 on AC/DC and Hendrix, Motley Crue!!!! You know, from when they were all singing under cocaine's influence instead of heroin. (Fuck you, heroin. Wrecking everything.)

When I do pole work, though, I like more entrancing music. dead can dance: like, sexy yoga music.... vast: massive attack: switchblade symphony:

When it comes down to it, though, we're all going to dance our best to music we like. Have a wide variety available to them.

At my pole class we have an ipod playing all kids...lady gaga is a good fun album to dance too! Britney, Cascada, things like Tinchy Stryder, Taio Cruz, N-dubz, Lily Allen! Not neccesarily 'sexy' music but good fun stuff, Pussycat dolls songs are great for routines! x
