I am 5'6" and about 105 lbs about a 32B and right before my period a 32C. My boobs do sag a bit, but right before my period they look good & have even been asked if they were "done".

I went into a consultation right after my period. The doctor suggested that I get silicone implants and get a "lolipop" lift at the same time. I want to add apx 300-375cc. I am not to crazy about the scar that I will have for a year or more. I don't think I would be able to dance with it.

Anyone ever had a lift? How long did you wait before you danced again? Anyone sag and got implants, no lift? How did it turn out? Please feel free to PM me also. Thanks!

Try www.implantinfo.com. There are a lot of very helpful, very knowledgeable ladies on that site as well.

I only have implants. So I can't be of much help to you.

I had a "donut" lift and a small implant. The scars were bad for a year but I used Mederma daily and concealer at work. I like them.

traditional 'lift' surgery leaves large and ugly scars from the nipple down to the bottom of the breast. The 'donut' lift involves serious scars around the perimeter of the nipple. The basic reason of course is that a true 'lift' effect involves the removal of existing skin by one means or another, and the cutting away of skin ( whether it's a wedge of skin from the bottom of the breast, or a donut of skin around the nipple ) creates major scarring.

To avoid the major scarring involved, lots of girls attempt to achieve a pseudo-lift by just getting implants ... where the implant insertion scar can be contained in the armpit or breast fold. But the trick to the pseudo-lift effect is that the implants must be large enough to 'stretch out' all of the existing breast skin from the 'inside' so that it becomes tight again. I'm not sure that 300-375 CC is enough to do that to a saggy C cup breast. Also, to add firmess to the breast, the pseudo-lift relies on the implant itself to contribute firmness along with the (newly restored) skin tension. Silicone implants are NOT going to do this, but overfilled saline implants will.

^^^ I had the opportunity to speak with one of my plastic surgeons over the weekend for other reasons, but I asked about the pseudo-lift. While my doctor wasn't willing to get specific, he did mention that for doing pseudo-lifts he typically used a low profile saline implant ( larger diameter versus projection) and then overfilled it by 20%-25% to create additional firmness. He also mentioned that 68LP low profile implants don't change 'projection' by 1/4 inch whether they are rated 325, 350, 400, 420, 440 or 480cc, they only get bigger in diameter, so he picked the implant size with a diameter that best matched the actual width of the breast he was doing the pseudo-lift on.

As a board certified plastic surgeon...this "pseudo lift" works on a minority of patients. Basically, if you need a lift, the problem is your nipple is too low. If you JUST put in an implant, you will either 1)if its under the muscle, create a double bubble deformity or 2) if its over the muscle, give a bigger but droopy breast (no superior pole fullness) with all the problems of rippling and palpability that come with implants over the muscle.

There are a few patients who can "get away with" a slightly bigger implant and avoid a lift but, they are few and far between. Sorry to rain on anyone's parade...

^^^ hello again PlasticsDoc ... and thanks for the professional opinion.

In fairness to my own doctor friend, I should have elaborated. He was referring to over the muscle placement. He was referring to overfilling the low profile saline implants to the point where bag wrinkles were driven out and upper pole fullness was provided by the firmness of the implant shell itself. He was also referring to an implant size that was sufficiently large to completely stretch out all of the available breast tissue to avoid a 'snoopy' / 'double bubble' situation ( which may require a size that is well beyond 'slightly bigger' ). But as you point out, my doctor friend was also clear that a 'pseudo lift' is a special case situation i.e. some girls are good candidates while for other girls it's totally unsuitable. And my doctor friend also pointed out that the appearance of a successful 'pseudo lift' will definitely fall in the category of 'stripper boobs' i.e. unnaturally firm and 'fake' ... which isn't necessarily a bad thing if the girl is indeed a 'stripper' ! But the one thing that a 'pseudo lift' virtually guarantees, which conventional lift surgery does not, is the ability of the girl to return to the stage within a matter of a few weeks.

Jumping back to the subject of conventional lift surgeries i.e. 'anchor' lift or 'donut' lift. Obviously the 'anchor' lift has the lower chance of complications, but leaves some very nasty scarring ( to the point of sidelining an exotic dancer ). What has your experience been with 'anchor' lift scars ?

Just as obviously the 'donut' lift minimizes scarring to the areola / breast boundary ... but significantly increases the chances of complications. What has been your experience with 'donut' lift complications i.e. nerve damage ?

Damn, after reading this I feel really lucky! I had some droopiness before my implants but they turned out fantastic, no nipple issues at all. I was considering a lift instead of implants but my Dr told me that implants would fix the issue with minimal scarring and in regards to things like this I tend to listen.
