    Default Affordable/drug store facial moisturizers?

I did a search on facial moisturizers and didn't really get anything.

Does anyone know of a good moisturizer that I can get at Walgreens, Longs, or CVS? Something affordable? I have been using MAC's oil control, and it's ok, but it makes my face break out. My face is freaking out because I was just on vacation for a month, so it's breaking out all over and super dry, burnt and scaly.

I know a lot of you rave over the Lush products, but are they pricey? And where are they available?

    Thanks in advance!

personally i love cvs brand products. They're just as good as the name brands and if you compare the ingredients they're pretty much identical to the name brand. I have oily, over reactive skin and i've been loyal to cvs vitamin e moisturizing cream for years now. It feels thick but it soaks right in and never makes me break out.

Oil of Olay is pretty good and inexpensive.I've also always been using L'oreal products, which most stores have, great quality.

Really? Wow! Ok, I'm going to try it out. My skin is super sensitive and over reactive, it's annoying. I'll try it out, thanks!

CeraVe cleanser and cream morning and night. You can buy it @ CVS. I swear by it.....AMAZING!! Use it before you put on your makeup and you will be shocked at how much nicer and smoother your face looks. It makes my makeup stay in place from the moment I apply until I wash it off. If you are normally very oily, use the CeraVe lotion after you cleanse instead of the cream. If you are dry (always in the winter) use the cream. Cetaphil is also great if you run out of CeraVe or can't find it. You also may want to look into buying a Clairsonic brush. They are expensive, but well worth the money in terms of skin health. Hope this helps....

I love Aveeno products! Especially the moisturizer. I used to break out a lot before I started using them religiously. In the winter, or if my skin feels dry, I switch to their line for "radiant skin" which is heavier moisture.

I second the Aveeno rave. Since I've started using it, my extremely sensitive skin has looked amazing.

Oil of Olay definitely. I think it was rated in the top 10 of best moisturizers on the market.

I first bought RoC moisturizers from Walgreens, then found out I could get it cheaper at Costco. Been using it ever since & have even gotten the thumbs-up from my dermatologist.

Oh no, I think oil of olay is bad for your skin. I guess it's ok for mature skin but for women in their 20's, it breaks your skin out very bad. I buy my cleanser and toner from sophora and my moisturizer which is by neutrogena for normal to oily and those products work really good for me, I've never had acne only one pimple here and there. But using my normal skin care regimine keeping my face extremely clean makes it stay beautiful. I use a scrub that I bought from bobby brown that's awesome. I use it once a wk. It's very moisturizing.

Also ladies, if you go to Kroger, it's this new line of cosmetics called e.l.f. When I was buying groceries a couple wks ago, I saw the shelf of cosmetics that said $1.00!!!! They weren't on sale, this is the normal price for those products!!!!They have liquid liner, brushes, mascara, shadows, everything. I bought some of the brushes, liquid liner and black shadow which was the smoothe kind, not the powder. OMG! Those products work just as well as the designer labels. I normally get my liquid liner and blk shadow from mac which is normally 30 something for the two, but I'll stick with this one. I can buy 13 or more of this one for the amount I spend on mac. The brushes work really well too, their actually really soft. I don't know if they sell these products in any other store, I found them at Kroger but you can look into to it to see.

Aveeno has a good moisturizer with SPF 30. I would recommend that, or wearing sunscreen as moisturizer, or on top of it. The best thing you can do to keep your face beautiful is to WEAR SUNSCREEN. Of course, this isn't as much of an issue if you have darker skin, but wrinkles and blotchiness can be prevented a lot more by just wearing sunscreen every day, more than any expensive anti-wrinkle cream

About the dark skin, some people think that but it's so not true. Darker skin can have just as many wrinkles as a lighter skin person if not taken care of. Either way, you have to take care of your skin. Don't smoke, always wear sunscreen, no matter who you are! Just love your skin you're in.

Sorry, I was referring more to blotchiness My mom's skin is pretty dark because she's an islander, and I'm really jealous because she never wore sunscreen for the first 30 yrs of her life, but her skin is practically wrinkle-free. I wish I'd inherited her skin Also, +1 on the smoking, AND DRINKING. Holy hell, heavy drinking really does a number on your whole body!

One nice thing about drugstores and places like Target is that they now have "all natural" sections where you can get little bottles of very safe lotion, like avalon organics or burt's bees. also, for the flakiness/acne, which I totally feel your pain on, try putting a tablespoon of honey on your face and leaving it for ten minutes, then rinsing with cool water. It's cheap and is now my favorite facial mask, next to the super-cheap queen helene mint julep mask.

I like the moisturizers available at The Body Shop. Depending on the type, you can spend anywhere from $16 to $36 (though all the expensive ones are like really hard-core anti-aging wrinkle-reducing creams). A little goes a long way; one thing of moisturizer usually lasts me several months. And it's all-natural, too.

I've tried lush moisturizers and really didn't care for any of them even though I'm a big fan of most of their other products. They made my sensitive skin freak the hell out. I wouldn't recommend them at all

I use cetaphil cleanser and their moisturizers. They have a nice one with a pretty high spf and I love it to death (I use retin-a and a good sunscreen and moisturizer combo is a godsend). I can't recommend cetaphil products highly enough, the line is formulated for extremely sensitive skin and I have never, ever had a bad reaction to it and neither has anyone else I've turned on to it.

I have pretty sensitive skin and i'm a jergens addict. I use there self tanning lotion for my body AND face.... I hate to admit it, but i've had better results with the jergens face lotion than with my expensive ass DDF shit.

i also would like to suggest a good cleanser. it's a little pricey, but worth it.... you might want to try Purity by Philosophy face wash, i've been a hardcore addict to it since 2004. It's gentle, yet strong... you also don't need very much, so an $8 bottle will last 2 months.

I don't know if this will work for you... but I started moisturizing with raw honey, and I will NEVER go back to regular moisturizer! I have acne-prone skin, and no matter what I used, it would make me break out at least some. The honey works AMAZINGLY- my face stays dewy but not oily all day, and nary a breakout (I've heard that raw honey has anti-bacterial properties so it might even be helping? I don't know for sure).

If you're set on drug store moisturizer I second cetaphil, of the maaaaany types I tried this was the least problematic.
