Just realize some crooks are targeting strippers for their money. Don't work in places you dont feel safe or ARE illegal.

If you are comfortable with it and you have bills to pay YES. Find a "safe" club and get going. The economy is so bad right now. I've been out of dancing for 5 years and I thank my lucky stars I am still able to go back. I actually saw an article the other day where they were interviewing a stripper about her views on the economy. The funny thing is....they were serious. They were applying her advice to the public. I never thought I'd see the day. lol
I used to say....people who looked down on strippers were just jealous that they didn't have the nerve to do it. You take a look this Halloween when every girl you see is dressed as a Playboy bunny or in some sexy stripper "ish" outfit. It's their ONE big day to look like a stripper.
Go get your money. I think the first night I ever danced I made 260$ I kept counting it over and over. It was an unbelievable feeling to make in one night what it took me 1/2 a week to make with my college education. I was horrible at first, the worst dancer ever, but you learn quick and the other dancers are usually very helpful with someone new. Had I not fallen "in love" my little butt would have stayed a few more years before leaving. I'm not telling you to not go to school or improve yourself other ways in the meantime. I'm just being realBroke is not cute!
^ most solid shit ive heard in awhile. right on.

If you really want to dance HELL YES.
And don't let customers fool you into thinking the economy is so
bad that you have to lower your dance prices because THEY WILL TRY.
Remember only if you really want to dance. If you have another job keep it at first. Decide if dancing is going to pay your bills.

Lots of valid points here, and thank you so much for recalling that blog of yours, britneyireland. That really helps to put things into perspective, when the money isn't coming in like we think it should be.

Honestly, I think that if you wanna dance, fucking go for it, but remember that it usually takes awhile to get in the swing of things at the club. I've been dancing for awhile and every time I switch clubs, I give it 2 weeks to settle in and start making money. I'm the sort of hustler that makes $500-1000 every night, but even then, when I first start somewhere, I find I make wayy less than that. So at first, keep your day job because it will take you awhile to find your hustle, learn the customer base, learn your competition, and make some regulars. Once you do this, and see some regular patterns of cash flow, THEN make the decision of whether or not to quit your day job. If you don't have a day job--then JUST DO IT! Dancing a lot of fun, espcially if it's just for extra money, not for a full on job! It's so liberating to walk home with $1000, $2000 in cash!![]()
Right now, at my club, it's really not bad at all. I'd say about 3-5 girls each night on the weekends walk home with $1000+. This past Tuesday I walked with $2500. On a Tuesday. Now granted, I have some fucking AMAZING regulars, and $1500 of that was a straight up tip ("here--have $1500) but still. If you find the right club, in the right city, with the right customer base, you are set to go. In this economy, I'm actually making MORE than I was before, mainly, I think, because I moved to a higher income place, started working at a higher end club AND because so many girls are just giving up! They come in and just sit around, smoking, drinking, hoping that shit will come along. You just can't do that anymore! You GOTTA hustle, and I know for a fact that the hustler at my club--at least the clean ones that straight hustle, not dirty hustle (ie. offer BJs or cocaine), are making at least $2000 a week. So it's totally possible to do well right now!
But you gotta make sure you're working a club that HELPS your money, not hurts it. I went from working a club with a blue-collar clientele, with $10 dances, $3 drinks and no VIP to working a club with a uber white-collar clientele, $40 dances, $40 drinks and $600/half hour VIP and $1200/hr. Now, you tell ME which club would be easier to make money at! VIPs or CRs are SOOOOO important! I went from being happy with $250/night at the first club to being happy with $800-1000/night at the second (my current club). Having an upsell, good customers, and private rooms helped SOOOOO much with the money! If I can upsell, I always try and try harder and eventually, I end up making something happen.
It's not to say I don't have bad nights. I do. But I haven't walked home with less than $500 in more than 5 months. Now, I do have to HUSTLE--and hustle HARD. I'm sure audrey_k, who I work with will back me up on this--but I literally do NOT stop hustling all night. I'm ALWAYS on the floor, an hour early and ready to go and I don't quit til the pull the lights up. I will sit with anyone and everyone and I will sell a lapdance to anyone with a pulse. I continually go to customer after customer over and over until I get dances. And the other girls who bank do too. It's what you gotta do, and if you start dancing, you'll learn this.
The most important thing in starting is to find a decent club. Maybe not the highest end, at first, but a decent one. One with a DJ and a VIP or CR. Ones that don't have either of those two things are NOT worth working at! Find one in a rich part of town, or at least a part of town that has SOME money! Location is so important! You can be the best hustler in the world but if you're at a club with a shitty clientele, it's not gonna do much for you. I hustled as hard in both my clubs and the difference in $250 vs $1000 isn't me: it's the men, the clinetele and the set up in the club. So find one that has good customers, and good regulars. It may take some hopping around--but it's worth it when you find the right place! Shit--I had to hop around this COUNTRY to find the club I've found, but you can believe that once I found it I stayed PUT, and plan on doing so until the money dries up or I turn 30, one or the two.
Ok, this post is too long. Point is; START DANCING, recession or not. If you find the right place and you fucking hustle, you'll be JUST FINE.![]()

shitttttt, what recession??
I made 1800 the other night, and this is only my 2nd week! Girl go get that money!!!

^ yeah - me too.
