    Michael Vick is disgusting.

'He's working with humane societies...' only because he has to and once the media paint him as a reformed character and he's not being kept a close eye on he'll be doing the exact same thing again. Only this time even more low key.

It's so sad to think that kids look up to this moron !

Citychick, you have no Idea... Eagles fans who wanted him drawn and quartered 3 months ago, now say he's an "awesome addition" to the team.

Get the facts straight. You can order dog shirts in the uniform of any player in the NFL, including that low-life Vick. The NFL is not keeping them in stock and hawking them. That would be sick.

I wasn't aware of that. Look for the NFL to rectify that. They are taking enough heat for reinstating Vick. I think this became news because someone realized it could be done.

Ya know, it aint cool what he did. But there are guys in professional sports who have made headlines and were convicted of things like hitting and killing someone and of domestic violence yet people keep focusing on these animals as if they are soooo much more important than human life. WTF

I just found this and I couldn't agree more....

Let me just say that I don't think it's ok what he did, not at all. But as a woman who has gone through D.V I feel like women are much more important than-dogs.

Maybe that's why we get treated like dogs from men and people turn a blind eye. Because America gets thier panties in a bunch if 2 dogs fight but not if a huge professional athlete beats up thier wife...

The thing is that a women being abused by her husband has a choice, she can leave !
Yes I realise there is much more to it than that, but there are womens refuges, helplines, and it is a CHOICE to stay.
Having been in an abusive relationship I can relate to the fact that it may be difficult to walk away. But it is possible.
An animal being kept and abused has no such choice.

Ok, what about Stallworth? He killed somebody. Nobody is talking about that. Not to this degree by any means. Oh b/c the lady clearly shouldn't have been walking. She must of known better. Stupid lady.

Well the thread wasn't about the fact that he killed that poor man by drink driving, but as you mention it.
It is appaling and beggers belief that Stallworth can buy his way out of murder (oops I mean DUI manslaughter - which is BS, you drink and drive and kill someone it should be Murder).
If it was my father/brother/son who had been killed you can bet your life I wouldn't be taking an undisclosed amount, and I would be kicking and screaming about the measly sentance handed down - 30 days in jail for murder pfffttt !

How a society treats its animals tells a great deal about that society. It is one thing to accidentally run over someone and it is entirely different thing to deliberately engage in cruelty such as dog fighting. I think Vick sends out the wrong message to youngsters who look up to him. If we glorify him then that means we as a society are endorsing cruelty. That is why Vick should never be allowed to hold any glamorous place in the society such as an NFL player.

Here in the UK two police officers were arrested for their part in dog fighting.
They lost their jobs and are going on trial.
Why someone like Vicks should be allowed to keep his job and continue to influence impressionable youngsters is insane.

The same way that being put under house arrest in your luxurious mansion for DUI Manslaughter (not an accident, a choice to get behind that wheel drunk) is insanity.
If you or I killed someone in the same way we'd be in jail.

I agree with you, if I were involved in anything like what Vick did, I would still be rotting in the jail. We have one set of justice system for us commoners and entirely another set of justice system for celebrities and rich like Vick.

It's terrible the only celeb I can think of that served real time is Tyson (rape) but he only did 3 years of a 10 year stretch.

Many people say he was setup although, I am not familiar with all the details. So, I could be wrong.

I watched the film Tyson, and he was so brutally honest.
Yet when it came to talking about a crime for which he was convicted and served his time for. He venemently denied it.
He said "Yes I have been aggresive with women, but never with that woman."
There really isn't any need for him to lie about it, and the possibility of it being set up is strong.
His 'victim' was probably expecting him to settle out of court and not persue it in court to protest his innocence.
