Default Just looking for some tips.

I'm relatively curious about working at an Amsterdam Gentlemen's Club here (I'm not going to lie; purely for financial reasons). I haven't started college yet. I need to be able to get out of my escalating home situation and into my own place, and I've applied everywhere else; restaurants, department stores, malls, retailers... Nobody will even give me the time of day. I was lucky enough to get this babysitting job that I have, but to be honest, it's turning to shit. I already sell Avon (I'm only on my second campaign, and it's tanking.) I work at an restaurant (but they aren't giving me hours) and, of course, I have this 8am-6pm babysitting job that only pays $4.25/hr for two children.

I'll also be honest and say (like I'm sure a lot of you have) that I only want to work this job until I can get out of where I am.

The only thing that scares me is that the people who I babysit for just moved into this house, and the previous owner was an exotic dancer. Most of their doors/locks were damaged from people trying to break into her house after following her home.

What made you decide to start this profession? Did you/do you meet your goals? Is this a job I'd be able to survive on? How do you get over the fear of or how do you avoid customers who might potentially want to harm you?

I would just like a little expertise on starting this profession so that I can decide whether or not this is a worthwhile course of action in my case...

    Thanks, girls!

Um, I've never had a customer try to follow me home. But I'm also pretty safe about those situations. I think that only happens really, really rarely, unless you've been stupid and given out your personal information. Every once in awhile I'll hear of one of those truly psycho guys that starts stalking a girl, but like I said, it's really rare. As long as you're safe about it, I don't think you should have anything to worry about. Always check to see if there's a car following you when you leave the club. If you work the night shift, you'll likely be leaving really late, and there are so few other cars on the road that someone following you will be obvious.

If you have serious fear issues about customers, I don't know if this is the job for you. You can't approach every dance situation with the mindset that every customer is potentially violent and just waiting for the opportunity to kidnap you. You'll freak yourself out and you won't make any money, or you'll have a bit of a mental breakdown. Just be safe and smart, and you shouldn't have to worry about any of that stuff.

You shouldn't come into this industry with a sense of desperation. It will be very easy for people to take advantage of you if you do that. This isn't a miracle job where you get paid hundreds of dollars a night to party. This is a business. You should approach it like you would any other job--responsibly, logically, and seriously. You can make a lot of money doing this if you do it right, but you need to draw your boundaries on day one and stick to them.

Check out the stickies on this Forum and see the other info girls have posted. It should answer most of your questions on how to get started.

Maybe she worked at a shitty club. Mine has a seperate parking lot for the dancers and 4+ security staff that patrol the lot and walk dancers to their car. There is no easy way for a custy to know what car we are driving, all the cars are smooshed in behind a fence and with almost a hundred girls leaving all at once (in the dark) they can't tell who is driving what.
    Yes, I'm real.
