    Default $5,000 to travel with-ideas?!

If you had $5,000 to spend on traveling, what would you do with it?

Portugal, Spain & Malta for their art, architecture, cathedrals, castles, museums, vineyards, futbol & cuisine. I'd stay at bed & breakfasts so I can get the dish on where to go/not go, what to do when I get their and travel by bus, train or boat.

Trip for two to Madrid and then train to Venice, then on to Athens. Two weeks between the three.

Asia . The money would go for months in Indonesia, Thailand, Laos and others ........ I'd also pay for either bf or a good friend to go. I can't get anyone to go with me - I would love to make that a reality!

Or ....Latin America. The money would also stretch well in Nicaragua , Honduras , and Guatemala. I wish I wasn't such a wuss about traveling alone. My solo travel usually only lasts 1-2 weeks. I kind of with I was with a guy who wanted to travel for months ...... because I would do it.

The fun thing about this game is that 5K is a very doable amount for a stripper to spend traveling ........... Elvia .... are you really just asking or are you GOING ?

Lame answer for most, but something I really want to do and hopefully will be next year - SCCA Solo Nationals. Cost for the trip, entry fees, and everything would be between $2k and $3k for me on a budget. $5k means not watching the budget and just having fun. And probably getting to spend at least one night in Lincoln at a SC.

Depends on how much time you have...and is it just you traveling?

Even alone you could easily spend that in a week or you could stretch it... travel can mean anything from deluxe hotels and 4 star restaurants to sleeping bags and grocery stores....

For me, I've been to Europe and the Caribbean, I'd like to take my next trip to Africa, mostly because I love African music and there are a lot of countries where my French would be useful.

Thanks to everyone who answered. Yes, I really am going (somewhere) and it's very exciting to hear eveyone else's dream vacations.
At the moment, I'm thinking of backpacking around Europe. Probably Italy, France and Germany.

I would go to Amsterdam again. I have been all over and that is my favorite place!

Well Greece I liked second. I dont think 5k is enough for both if I stay at the swiss hotel.

Central Europe (so many ethnic groups and history) and (somehow cheaply in) Skandanavia, but first I'd want to bone up on my German
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.

I can't even begin to tell you what a let-down the Anne Frank house was for me. I read the book in anticipation of a trip to Amsterdam as well. It may have been 'preserved' but it is essentially 4 very small rooms. And the queue to get in!! Don't get me started...
