    Default "Negative Calorie" foods

Well whenever something works for me and I am psyched about it, I want to share
I have been really trying to work on my diet lately, and since I had to suspend my gym membership this month (due to financial issues, boo) I really wanted to cut my calories and take the opportunity to get myself into better eating habits
I have always struggled with dieting, but have come to the realization that I have to change my eating if I want to reach my goals. I have always been the "eat what you want, work out more!" person.....which doesn't work.
I am truly amazed the changes my body has gone through in the past 4 weeks from integrating these foods into my diet. I have lost about 2 pounds a week, my shape has changed, I feel better.....and even without exercise.

    Ok, here's the list:
    Negative Calorie Foods ~ Vegetables

    asparagus
    beets
    broccoli
    cabbage (green)
    carrots
    cauliflowercelery
    chicory
    chili peppers
    cucumbers
    endive
    garliclettuce
    onions
    papayas
    spinach
    turnip
zucchini Negative Calorie Foods ~ Fruit

    apples
    cranberries
    grapefruit
    lemonsmangos
    oranges
    pineappleraspberries
    strawberries
    tangerines

"All foods have some calories. No food is actually "negative calorie" food. BUT the overall effect of certain foods in our body is that of "negative calories". Negative calorie foods are foods, which use more calories to digest than the calories the foods actually contain!

Calories from these foods are much harder for the body to breakdown and process. In other words, the body has to work harder in order to extract calories from these foods. This gives these foods a tremendous natural fat-burning advantage"

I know some of these might repulse some of you.....BUT pick the ones you like and try to replace as many meals as you can stand with them. Of course eat lean protein as well ( eggs, boneless chicken breast, fish, lean steak like london broil) I usually eat one meal with the protein in it a day then go veg for the rest. I have also cut out all soda and juice, and aim for a gallon of water a day.

THEN the best part is having one "off day" a week where I go crazy and eat what I want. It's really motivating and is like a reward for doing so good all week.....and gorging on junk is twice as enjoyable!

I keep trying to tell people, go on an ALL FRUITS/VEGETABLE/HARD BOILED EGGS/LEAN MEAT diet. It sucks out all of your fat and makes you feel fab! I grill up a bunch of chicken and eggs and cut them into my salads.
    Yes, I'm real.

Those foods are all healthy but they are not negative calorie food. An apple has about 80 calories, it doesn't take your body anywhere near 80 calories to digest it.

The only foods on that list that might be negative calorie foods are celery and maybe the endive. No offense to you but the whole negative calorie bullshit really irritates me, especially since most of the foods they preach about being so aren't even close.

you have to take into account the insulin spike fruits will give you too...fructose can be as bad as sugar you have on the table.

    Well excuse me.

So sorry to mislead anyone.......my whole point is that it works and I feel wonderful and want to share. I understand the concept isn't exactly "negative calorie" that's why I put that in "quotes" and in red text it explains exactly what is going on

I eat most of those foods normally when I'm dieting.
    [Which I am right now.]

Mostly I have the problem that I love things like cupcakes and doughnuts and fat kid foods. and way too much of them.
So I just eat... everything but those when I want to diet.

i eat all that stuff normally because it is tasty and dieting is useless. better to eat well and keep active. you'll stay trim and fit and you will find yourself stressing less about minor fluctuations in weight.

also, the negative calorie stuff is unproductive because your goal shouldn't be to treat eating as a con game against your body, where if you only eat the 'right' food you can 'trick' it into 'melting fat'-- you should just try to eat whole foods that taste good in reasonable amounts for your level of activity.

the only really viable short-term method of losing fat and keeping muscle is ketogenic dieting for a few weeks at a time (super-high, mostly lean, mostly animal protein, no carbs).

any other swift-seeming weight loss is almost certainly water-- women are amazingly good at retaining water and tend to lose and gain weight according to the vagaries of their menstrual cycles, and not so much a week-to-week change. this is somewhat true even when on hormonal birth control. it means a lot of women lose/gain on a 2-3 week cycle rather than a clear and obvious gain/loss week to week as men might see with even yo-yo dieting.
