    Default Paint advice

    Response thread, maybe:

I've been considering painting my living room now that I've bought a sofa I love. Since my whole life I've been on the move, things like buying furniture and painting are exciting, scary, and comforting all at the same time.

However, I really don't think we'll be staying here for more than the remainder of our year-lease (July), so if I do paint, I want it to be something I won't need 4 coats of paint to get back to white.

My question (1): what colors are the easiest/ most difficult to paint back to white?

My question (2): How do you think a terra-cotta red/brown would look behind an olive green couch? Or, what else would you suggest? I like options. We have a white/beige carpet, the standard cheap apartment color.

I'd appreciate any ideas and paint advice (I have painted walls before, btw, not really interested in technical painting advice, but thanks anyway)!

    I found this helpful:

Instead of paint, have you considered fabric (hung on the wall), lighting, a rug, art or other methods of introducing color without the commitment?

I'm still in the process of re-decorating my living room & have amassed tons of pics that have the design elements I want. Here are a few that might give you some ideas:

    - Bold fabric draped on the wall. This is my living room:

    - Rug & a few accent pieces:

    - Accent wall I think would complement your olive couch:

    - Lighting at the base of some really cool art. Maybe something with the same shade of olive in it?!

Whatever you decide, make it fun & make it YOU! Good Luck

You should use VOC free paint. No smell, no paint fumes. I have used Freshaire. It rocks!

I like those colors and they are pretty neutral (well at least to the point where they will be in for a while).
