Thumbs down getting a "stripper" body....how??

    Ok,

So last night I was playing around on my pole, just doing most basic moves.
Then I wanted to progress to try to pull myself up & see if I could climb at all. Mind you, I haven't worked out in years, & I was always one of those lucky thin girls that never had to work out........welllllll now it's different.

I couldn't even pull myself up, its dam ridiculous. My arms have always been my weakest part of my body, & my thighs/legs the strongest. Well, at that moment I realized how in shape strippers have to be!

I really want to get into "stripper" shape so at least I am strong enough to do some pole tricks, etc. I wanna lose a few lbs too, but mostly just tone my body up & strengthen up big time.

What do you girls recommend? How in the world do you get your arms strong enough to do all those wild pole moves? I have NO CLUE it'd be this hard.

I'm bummin' cuz here I thought I was ready to start dancing but now I'm questioning if I could even last 2 hours without being totally in pain.
    XoXo

I do pole tricks. I hold on to the pole, standing on the platform, twirl around in a 360, and shake my butt.

The girls that make the most money barely even dance.
    Yes, I'm real.

hahaha im still to weak to climb the damn pole! i cant even hold my weight on it without slipping down. mostly i hold onto it and walk or twirl around it. i know how to do a few basic spins but when im actually on stage my hands get sweaty, probably due to nervousness, and i dont want to risk my grip slipping. the dumb thing is that even during my heavy working out period when i was lifting weights and stuff i could never figure out how to climb.

First off, get some dumb bells - something over 12 lbs and do arm exercises with them.

On the pull make sure your pole is clean first, and use a grip aid like Dry Hands if you need it. Then work on doing pull-ups WITHOUT jumping onto the pull. Hang on for as long as possible. Once you can hang for awhile with your feet off the ground then start working on climbing.

I do push ups, and I have a pull up bar I use. Honestly the pull up bar worked better in terms of getting strong enough to be on the pole.

I do have to say though that pole work is non-essential. You can start and even continue dancing without doing any pole stuff.
