Default Top earners and pre-work rituals

I started reading Unlimited Power by Tony Robbins, and in the book he talks about modeling people who are really successful at what they do. So top earners, is there anything specific you do before you go to work? Play a certain song, visualize yourself making money, talk to someone who makes you laugh?

To all girls, on your best nights when you've made the most amount of money, what was your mind set on that night? Can you remember anything specific about the way you were feeling?

Thanks girls, hopefully this thread will help everyone out. Does anyone have experience with this book?

I watched Labyrinth before going in to work Friday night, and I banked. I think I might turn that into a ritual.

i dont think theres anything specific i do beforehand on nights when i end up being the top earner. I think it's what I do during the night that counts a lot more.

I do think the one thing that gets me a lot of dances is making it OBVIOUS to the other customers that I am getting a lot of dances. It's this cycle where I just need to get those first few dances and the more I get the more other guys seem to want 'em. Then suddenly I'm on a roll. Our VIP/lapdance room is upstairs so I'll walk back downstairs with the guy when it's over with my top or dress still off, but covering my boobs with it. It gets attention. On busy nights I make myself a bit scarce, don't spend too long talking to any one person if they're not spending money, try to look busy, and (some girls may be skeptical about this) I sometimes stand alone a couple minutes to let guys come up to ME. Guys will occasionally come up to me and interrupt my conversation with another customer in order to ask me for a dance. So if I make myself free for a few minutes here and there (especially if I meander/sip my drink near the staircase) it leaves open a chance for a guy who wants to ask me for a dance but who thinks it would be rude to interrupt my conversation with another person. Being somewhat near the staircase makes me look "available for dances" or whatever.

Some nights it seems like a lot of girls are sitting with the same guy(s) for a long time, which is totally fine, I'm not gonna bash another girl's hustle! Maybe she is making hundreds of dollars off a couple of guys. (and lord knows ive sat there with the same guy for like an hour before cuz i knew he had $$ that he wanted to spend on me). But it also sometimes pays to appear to be the girl that many guys want dances with, yet who is friendly and available to where you can just walk up to her when you're ready for a dance and she'll gladly take up you upstairs.

Also when you're on a roll don't stop! When you come back downstairs almost naked holding your dress up to barely conceal your body try to get back to working the floor asap, even if you end up putting it back on in front of the next customer you talk to, or mention playfully that your top's already off so you're already ready for him. Seems to work for me.

From what I can remember from really good nights from NON-regulars,lol..

I know that those are the days I have a little more bounce in my step. I sit with customers in a position where I'm basically on the 'edge of my seat'...perched a bit on the edge of my chair with an erect posture and kind of obviously highlighting 'the goods' and directing them towards the customer, sitting with my body positioned/my feet facing towards him and leaning in a bit to create the feel of a 'personal connection.'

In effect, this creates a bit of the 'you better act now' triggered response as you seem like you're simply waiting 'to go'. I also cock my head a bit towards the direction of the lap area when I go in for the close, beckoning them to look that way and put the sale in their mind.

I also tend to answer questions in a more coy, slightly mysterious way instead of a long-drawn out conversation. I keep things light on those nights, although hinting at possibly opening up more. Gives them the sense they have to 'give more' to 'get more' and is less exhausting than being too friendly and open and then having them leave you hanging with the 'maybe later' round-up if you give them too much info upfront.

On the drive TO work on those nights, I tend to have flowing bossa nova/dreamy type music with instruments playing and less of the party/hip-hop/rap/alternative 'current music and more 'worldmusic'. It gets me to focus on the beauty of the moment and keeps me thinking in broader terms rather than simply 'shaking that ass' type of music, since my stage dancing tends not to be about that. I guess whichever music most aligns with your sense of style is good to listen to so that even when you enter the club and top 40 music or whatever dominates the club, you sort of feel like you brought your 'style' with you through the door.

It reminds me of the regular night clubs I frequented and good times I had when I'd go out dancing in Paris during my student years. So whichever music evokes times when you felt particularly awesome, whether it IS hip-hop/pop/80s or whatever will sort of create the right 'feel good' aura and like-minded people will probably pick up on it in some way.

When I was a DancerWealth student, I listened to Adam's coaching CD on the way into work.

Now, this is going to sound REALLY cheesy, but I listen to my own podcast SuperStripper Summer Secrets and the tracks I am going to release this fall entitled Get into The SuperStripper Zone.

Its weird, even though I KNOW this stuff inside and out, it really does help to listen to it again and again and again to get into the Zone and own it.

Simply the act of getting ready for work got me in the mood to work. I would play upbeat music while doing hair/ makeup. I always double checked my dance bag to make sure my dance supplies were all there.

Today, you may want to place status updates on you stripper social networking pages. Make them tantalizing and fun to encourage customers into the club to see you.

Arriving 20-30 minutes early gave me a chance to settle in before I had to start. If I got to work late, and rushed in all stressed out, it was very hard for me to make any money due to the "rushed" mood I was in when getting to work.

For me just getting myself to where I look good, knowing I didn't over-eat, and overall just feeling good about how I look gets me in the mood to earn money. Plus, just looking at my earning from other nights... that's always motivating.

^^Yes! Looking over what you earn per week or per month really would perk me up after a slow night. It is the over all income that makes a difference, anyway.

I do aromatherapy and make sure to be in a quiet place. Then I do nothing but concentrate on my shower (showers make me happy) and then my make up. Then I listen to classical music on my way in so that when I get there Im kinda in a zen place. Just thinking about it actually just made me smile.

This is a timely thread for me, my father has been in the hospital and I needed to be reminded of the mechanics behind how I make good money.

I'm not a top earner yet but I tend to do better than most of the other girls and my earnings have steadily been increasing on average so I have high hopes.

My prework ritual on the days that I bank starts with a trip to the coffee shop I work at. I get six shots of espresso and sit for about an hour reading stripperweb stuff and talking to friends as they get breaks or come in to start shifts. So I get caffeinated and spend some time with people that I care about. When it's getting close to time to go get ready I check out hustle hut and then go home.

I shower and all that good stuff and the cats help me put my makeup on and then I spend a few minutes playing with them and then I'm off. I drive 45 minutes to my club and I spend the entire drive blasting industrial music and thinking about what I read on hustle hut and about moves I want to do on stage, things I've done on previous good nights, and about things I want to have or do. I set a minimum goal for the day, break that down into how many dances that will take to accomplish, and picture myself walking through the club and sitting down with a great attitude and getting dance after dance after dance.

If there is anything negative going on with my life I make sure that I have either resolved it or made a decision about what steps I'm going to take to deal with it before I get to the club so I don't find myself thinking about it when I'm trying to work. Negative crap does not come in the door with me. This is key for me. Every time I let myself walk in anxious I have a shit night.

Once I get to the club I walk in and through the club to the dr with a confident step, head held high, with a smile on my face, get ready as quickly as I can, and then as I put on my shoes (this is always the last thing I do) I start telling myself that I am a sexy bitch and keep doing that as I get up, check myself over from all angles in the mirrors, and then walk out and "hit the floor running" and don't stop until we close.

And having typed all that out, I will now say that I am about done with my six shots of espresso and it's time to check hustle hut and then go get my game on no matter how worried I am about my dad,

i've been doing better at work lately, but i wouldn't say i'm a top earner.... my big difference has come by listening to music while getting ready, getting ready a little bit earlier than normal, and making sure my hair is done before i get to work.

it's definately put me in a better mood when i get to work.

i've only been dancing for about a month and a half (but i've already had some nights where i'm one of, if not THE top earner at my club), but here's what's been working for me:

first, i have a great workout - i take a spinning class if i can - because exercise makes me feel happy, confident, and sexy. on my way home, i get coffee to energize. then when i get home, i take a long, hot shower (i'm like jay - i love my showers) and give myself a good hour to do my hair and make-up. when i'm all made up and ready to go, i put on some music (something fun, like madonna or prince) and dance around my apartment for a few minutes. finally, i get dressed, look at myself in the mirror, and remind myself that i'm beautiful. it also helps to visualize all the money i'm going to make.

i usually take the subway to the club, and - even though under normal circumstances, i'm oblivious to it - i pay attention to the catcalls and stares i get from men. it helps to get me into the hustling mindset, and it makes me feel more confident once i get to the club because i remind myself of all of the men i passed on the way there who wanted to fuck me.

Here is a trick from Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins that works like a charm for me. Write out a list of 20 things that make you really happy - things that don't have to do with food, drinking, or drugs - things that make you smile naturally. Use that list to change your negative, sad, unhappy mood at any time is the point, learning how to change your emotional state at any time. I think about my fiance and all the things I do with him that make me so happy, about talking to my mom and sisters and how much we laugh together, about how I feel after a long hard run, about getting an A in my last class, etc.

I have my list and read it at the beginning of the shift (or middle or end) so that with all these great memories in my head I am absolutely glowing. In fact, I have had several customers litterally say just that. I make so much money in that state b/c with that type of effervescence people just want to be around you. Combined with a strong hustle it's a winner.

I have learned so much from that Tony Robbins book about improving myself - SO MUCH - and am only 1/4 the way through.

I listen to the Strip and Grow Rich podcasts that I've saved in iTunes. I love them. No matter how many times I listen to them, it always seems I've forgotten something that needs to be applied. Sometimes, it is only 1 or 2 differences I pick up that can make or break a day at work.

I hate to admit it, but I can be really superstitious about what makes a good night at work. Before I go in, I make sure I don't wear pink panties because somewhere along the line I got the idea that I have a bad night every time I wear them! So retarded.

Another thing I find myself doing is letting whatever random song I hear on the radio on the way to work "predict" what kind of night I'm going to have. It's always best when songs like "Whatever You Like" come on!

Does any one else have stripping superstitions?

    Unlimited Power rocks.

I visualize standing in the middle of the my club all alone in my little stripper outfit whilst counting a stack of money.

Also I watch the money makers and copy then if I can put my own twist on this.

A long time ago there was this really cute girl who didn't do very well at the club. After awhile she started doing what I did and became my competition! It was really obvious to me, and thought I was seeing things then realized that I was not.

This was not a bad thing because the most important thing I have learned as a dancer is to change your game.

Those who change and adapt evolve. Be the trend setter then when everyone else is doing what your doing change the game.

I have a video I watch called "Awakening". It is along the lines of the Secret but more a walk through of putting it to use. I spend about 15 minutes or so visualizing my money that I am going to make for the night. Then I take my shower, and drink my Rock Star while doing my hair and make-up and listening to my positive affirmation CD of abundance. I also do an exercise I learned from Brian Tracy and Suze Orman. I write out my goal in the present tense 20 times. For example, "I am now so happy and grateful for the $2500 I receive every shift." or another favorite "I make at least $1000 every time I work." If I am at work and it is slow, I'll put my headphones in and listen to a 25 minute CD I ripped onto my MP3 player that has a bunch of positive affirmations to attract abundance. It never fails, I always find my guy unless I just decide to be lazy or leave.
