Default I am so high right now

and I'm really not liking it.

I had two of my wisdom teeth yanked out today. Horrifying experience, it wasn' painful but having your teeth ripped out of your mouth is not a pleasant experience. I soaked my clothes with sweat and I kept feeling like I was about to panic. I love my dentist though, he was so calming and really helped me through the process.

They put me on Lortab and said it might make me drowsy but I think I'm high. I've only been high once before and that was after my c-section. I hate feeling like I'm not in complete control, it's awful.

So, I forgot what I was going to ask... oh, how long does it hurt after you get wisdom teeth cut out? The dentist gave me a rough estimate and plenty of pills but I'm hoping that it only hurts for a couple days so that I don't have to take them very long. I appreciate any info from those of you who have been through this.

    Thanks guys.

Depends somewhat on your age, how much bone was removed, etc, but in my 20s.. 4-5 days and the vast majority of the pain was gone. First day or two sucks. It subsides a little everyday. For my kids they said 2-3 days. My son was up that night playing games and could barely tell he had it done and he didn't even need the pain pills. Mine was longer because of deeply they were impacted and how much bone chipped out to get the teeth out. So yea, that is not very specific but it really could be a few days or longer depending on the variables.

Thanks, I was figuring that I'll need the meds for about 4-5 days, I can live with that. Mine were really impacted too, and the bottom one had this weird root that actually curved back.

I had 6 impacted wisdom teeth removed when I was 21. The worse pain lasted 4 days for me, chipmunk cheeks a week & a half. After that the pain was tolerable enough not to need drugs. They really made me feel like shit when I was on them, but whatcha gonna do?!

In the meantime, take care of the rest of your teeth. I got the first cavities in my life because I was afraid to get the bristles anywhere near the extraction site. Having my wisdoms removed also screwed up my bite, but thank goodness for Invisalign.

    Happy healing!

I had 3 impacted ones cut out, where they had to chip away bone to get to them, and I think I took a Vicoden when I got home, then another before bed that night and switched to ibuprofen the next day. I was still tender but 2 ibuprofen every 4 hours took care of any major pain.
