The next crisis is...world war 3???
i'm having a problem reading something written by a fictional character and submitted by a fictional character?
now melonie is wicked smart so i will read this when i'm more sober, but my first impression leads me to skepticism. i will attempt to read it tomorrow though, just updating y'all![]()

I predict . . . unrest in the middle east and war over natural resources. Remember, you heard it here first!

If I give all I have to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love; I gain nothing. Paul’s 1st Letter, 13th Chapter

The US gave a 'concession' to the Soviets by not deploying the missile defense system in Europe, one would think, for something in return, but not too soon afterwards, so no one thinks that the two events are linked. (Like the Cuban missile crisis when Russia backed off, and the US subsequently removed missiles from Turkey...) So for a little while we are left to wonder... Russia sitting by while Israel turns Iran's nuclear weapons program into glass? (Remember the Israeli air strike that wiped out Iraq's program in the 1970's?) That would be my guess...

^^^Totally linked.
The Caspian pipeline has been an issue for quite some time.
I hate how the media and government try to make everyone think that things like this are "out of the question" then continue with their devious plans behind our backs. Think Georgia.
To get a visual if you are not familiar Afghanistan is sitting in between Pakistan and the Caspien Sea. Iraq is in the way of direct routes from Israel to the pipeline.
Who is America friends with? Pakistan and Israel. Who is Russia buddies with lately? China. Who owes China lots and lots of money? We do.
Basically the U.S. needs to either get a hold on the pipeline or help Isreal do it before Russia or Iran do or we'll be screwed. China likes us because we give them jobs but if the U.S. doesn't get a foot hold on this endeavor we probably won't be the bully's on the block like we usually are.
If anything starts a crazy world war it will be the Caspian Sea pipeline because it borders too many countries with special interests.
Personally I think we should be staking a claim of water on the dark side of the moon. Whoever does that and gets away with it will be untouchable for ever and ever.

^^^ I probably need to specifically mention a point that anyone familiar with the Caspian pipeline takes for granted. Russia and the former Soviet satellite states around the Caspian sea have a s#!tload of oil and gas available. However, at present, there is no easy way to bring this oil and gas to the world market because the Russian gov't has absolute control of all of the existing pipelines as well as de-facto control of all of the Caspian sea port terminals ( after the US threw Georgia under the bus plus abandoned missile shield plans ). The 'Israeli' pipeline would be a method of allowing the former Soviet satellite states to bypass Russia and bring their oil and gas to the world market directly. While the satellite states / Israel / the US / the EU would all love to see this happen, Russian and China and Iran are much more content seeing these 'alternate' sources of world market oil and gas continuing to remain 'captive' to the Russians / Russian pipelines.
I would also add that after recent UN events re Iran and Israel, and the official announcement that Iran has a second 'secret' nuclear enrichment facility, Bibi Netanyahu would be crazy if he weren't readying plants for an attack on Iran. After all, at this point, in terms of world opinion or US aid it won't make one iota of difference whether he orchestrates an attack on Iran or not.
