Maybe she didn't lie, but just really doesn't know. I worked with a girl back in the early 1990's (non-stripping job) that swore that she was pregnent but her Dr. kept telling her that she wasn't. So she just went through her days getting bigger and bigger. By the time she was 7 months along, her Dr. was finally convinced that yes, she must be pregnant.
You do hear stories occasionally about women giving birth and are surprised by a new baby.
Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

She might just feel it's no ones business. I wouldn't tell ppl I work with if I was.
Sorry I missed church. I was too busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian.

Hmm...
Everyone's reason is different. By her flipping out like that, she's probably under a lot of stress.
Who knows...

A lot of people like to wait until the first trimester is over to announce the pregnancy. I did. Wanted to be sure we were out of the woods since the first 13 weeks are the most vulnerable. And if one person finds out you're knocked up, forget being able to tell anyone else the news yourself.
That, and in some clubs there's a good chance she would get fired for being pregnant. Maybe she wanted to work as long as possible. Or she didn't want other dancers telling her regulars - possibly costing her money.
Or maybe she wasn't sure if she was going to keep it. There's a lot of reasons.

If she wanted you to know, she would have told you. Otherwise, it's nunya.![]()

Worried it might hit her money? Some men won't buy dancers from pregnant dancers.
Alternatively, maybe the pegancy wasn't planned - and is not 100% welcome. In which case she might not like being reminded of it.

Dancers, like many women, decide to terminate their pregnancies for emotional and financial reasons. Perhaps she was contemplating having an abortion, and didn't want to risk her job before she made the decision? I'm currently 10 weeks, 6 days pregnant and I'll still be nervous until my second trimester (the beginning of the 14th week). The likelihood of carrying to full term increases to 90% once you reach your second trimester, so most people wait to make a huge announcement until then, including myself.
If you are willing to do for one year what other's won't, you can spend a lifetime doing what other's cant.
