Sad seriously, help, my hair is snapping!

so my hair is bleached blonde, i've had it coloured like this for the last year and now i am noticing alot more strands coming out than normal and right by the base of my neck, it looks like the hair is completley breaking off! even when i comb conditioner thru it, like a good 50 hairs fall out!

i only wash it like twice a week and when i do i use a conditioner and a mask and an oil treatment before i wash it.
i use straightners once maybe twice a week and never blow dry it.

is there any good products out there which will restore it to make it stronger?

i don't want to go back to being brunette but at this rate, i don't want to be bald!
    any advice apprecaited girls

A brazilian keratin treatment would help you tremendously. Also, avoid pulling it back so much, like ponytails.

It's a treatment that involves washing your hair with a clarifying shampoo, to strip all the buildup off. Then, applying liquid keratin (the protein of which you hair is made up) and using a 450 degree flat iron to fuse it into each strand of your hair, filling in the weak/broken areas. It can literally stop split ends in their tracks. It's the ultimate repairing treatment, although most women get them done to de frizz and straighten/relax their hair.

Yes, and may I add a girlfriend of mine used to have hair like yours, she was using bleach and a high volume lift to pull the color so it was killing it. Mine is blonde too but I use a blonde dye and a lower lift and they add highlights a little later. Sure it's not Playmate blonde anymore but it looks a lot better!

I havent tried the bkt but as I'm adding highlights I use potent protien treatments, deep conditioners and leave in conditioners. Redken makes some great protien treatments. I like the anti snap leave in and deep fuel protien. Just make sure you deep condition afterwards.

Yeah mines breaking of around 3inches from the scalp. All the areas my chunky blonde streaks are. When I did just small streaks all over my natural color I never had issues. Do you bleach all over? I would just lighten the root and do some low lights for contrast, color as little as possible. Iam only doing the crown every 2 months but still getting breakage and I use the best shampoo, cond on the market plus get deep keratin treatments ect. You just have to leave it be and get healthy. Use as little heat on it as possible, flat irons even high end ones( I own two) arent good for your hair.

Also, I read an article about the pantene's nature infusion line and apparently testing shows it significantly reduces the amount of hair lost within 6 weeks. This might help. I just got it for my mom, her hair is bleached blonde (been for over 10 yrs.). I'll let you know what she says about it.

^^ I'm curious about that Pantene line too. My hair has been brittle, dry, and totally unmanageable since I switched to sulfate-free products.

Crystal go get aphogee keratin conditioner and chi silk infusion from a black beauty store. it's cheaper there. air dry or use cool setting on your hair dryer and don't wash your hair too often. braid or put your hair in big soft curlers when you go to bed. and don't comb your hair too often. make sure your hair dresser don't double bleach your hair. you know bleach the area close to the dark roots when you are getting touch up. this is hard to do and one of the main reason why hair fall out. I cut all my blondes off and now have short hair. but at least I don't have to deal with extremely fragile dry hair. If I had to do it again, I would have gone with a warmer darker blonde rather than platinum blonde. and I would advise those who are going this route to do it on virgin hair.

I used to highlift my hair... so when I washed it... I could run my fingers through and pull out HANDFULLS of hair...
    I used http://reviews.sallybeauty.com/6151/...80/reviews.htm <--- that.
It makes your hair thicker and softer... and it stops it from falling out all over the place!

A keratin treatment is definately a good thing to do in the near future... but Ion's 3 step repair kit is a GREAT quick-fix in the mean time. And has Amazing results for less than 10 bucks.

I went to Sally's today, saw & bought this product: Miracle 7. It's a leave-in spray. $10.99 I mean definately you need a deep conditioner, as I do, but just for an every day thing. Just now tried it for the 1st time, on my hair. It says to use after shampoo/conditioner, but I'm going to try it out, so far it seems ok. It's supposed to stop breakage, detangle, etc.
Also, Emergencee, by Nexxus used to be good. I'm not sure if they changed the formulation of it. A deep conditioner, you leave it in about 10 - 15 min. before washing out.

My sister and I both used Pantene's Nature and our hair started to fall out more than usual! I'm sooo pissed and will never use their products ever again! Try a coconut oil treatment.

I read up on this, and I'm totally going to buy it tomorrow, it sounds awesome! Not the typical "coat your hair full of silicones" but actually repairs your hair!

Yeah... that's what I like about it... it really improves the quality of my hair.
I've wound up using it about 3 times a year for the last several years... and every time I'm amazed at how much volume I've got and how nice the quality of my hair is.
It's a bit unnerving though... because the first step makes your hair feel like complete shit... it's not until you've worked the second one through that it feels okay again... No one warned me about that.

Avoid Pantene at all costs... it will seriously jack your hair up. By far one of the WORST products on the market. I'd even buy a bottle of Suave or V05 before I'd touch that hair poison!!!

I didn't know Pantene was bad, damn!
I just bought the beautiful lengths shampoo & leave in!
They're always talking it up, saying that one w/the green cap, is a breakthrough product, so great for hair!

^^^^ It makes your hair feel good because it's loaded with silicones, that coat the hair shaft. But, after a while it actually makes your hair more brittle. Pantene made my hair tangle and consequentially fall out. Check out www.longhaircommunity.com , all those ladies have waist length, shiny, unbelievably beautiful hair, and they use all natural products and methods. Henna, Cassia, Honey, coconut oil, and so many more. I've learned quite a bit so far! Check it out!

Believe it or not, one of the best conditioners is Suave tropical coconut. It has no silicones in it all, and I believe all Suave conditioners are safe. Silicones are really bad, they will ruin your hair in the long run. Sulfates have a bad rap too, they are ingredients in many shampoos that are basically like harsh laundry detergents. Many people have switched to sulfate free shampoos, including me. I do a CWC, condition wash condition in the shower. Apply conditioner from my ears down, shampoo at the scalp area, rinse it all off, apply conditioner to all my hair, wrap in a bun, and finish my showerly duties. Detangle with a comb and rinse at the end. I do nightly oiling treatments too, and there are many recipes for this on that site.

I also like the L'Anza products, they have 'em @ Ulta. They're a little expensive, but I got a free product w/my rewards card. It's L'Anza healing moisture leave in spray, & I really like it.

Redken anti-snap is an excellent product to prevent hair breakage. I think it was here that I read such great reviews for it.

You might want to look into taking some vitamins as well. I am taking some High Potency B Complex Vitamins from Trader Joes. There is extensive research to support that B vitamins are beneficial for maintaining high energy levels, helping your body process fats and carbs, helping improve your mental health, and building healthy hair, skin, and nails. Since taking these vitamins I have noticed some huge changes.

The positive changes are as follows:

    I have more energy.

I have lost weight. My workouts are more effective. (I also take CLA to help with weight loss.)

My mood has improved. (Depression runs in my family. I have been to many MDs. By far, this is what has worked best for me. )

I don't get pimples during my cycle.

My hair is stronger. The color is also shinier and more intense.

My nails do not chip or break.

Yes, B vitamins work wonders, specifically Biotin. It helps your body fully break down the proteins you ingest, so that your hair, skin, and nails get the full benefit. You will notice a huge difference within a month of taking Biotin daily.
