    Arrow Tip Plasty (rhinoplasty) anyone???

I had a Primary Rhinoplasty about 5 years ago and although it's not horrible, my tip is a little wonky looking. It's never been quite right. Lately I've been considering a tip-plasty to revise the original surgery. Has anyone had just a tip plasty? I HATED recovering from the original surgery because of the cast, the packing, swelling, etc. although there was no pain at all! I'm hoping just getting my tip done will be an easier recovery.

Also, I get nervous "messing" with my nose too much. I just keep picturing Michael Jackson....

There is a new type of non-surgical nose job now. It is done with derma fillers. Maybe that could help with the tip?

Here is a link to a doctor who does this sort of procedure.

I know of Dr. Gunter, he's supposed to be the best for this type of thing in my neck of the woods.

^^^^^I've heard of this, and I've heard only really awesome stories, or really botched jobs, so please go to someone VERY experienced!

YES listen to JD PLEASE! When it comes to facial plastic surgery go to a surgeon who specializes in FACIAL cosmetic/reconstructive surgery. Take it from someone that learned the hard way.

That being said...I have breathing problems left over from the surgery as well so if I get brave enough, I'd like to get that fixed and amend the slight tip problems. I actually found a surgeon in my area who specializes/is board certified in facial cosmetic AND reconstructive surgery. The only thing better than that IMO is if he were also a certified ENT but that is RARE to find (kinda like a unicorn) Anyway he does do this non-surgical nose job so I may make a consult with him and see if that could be a temporary fix for at least my tip/nostrils until I get brave enough to go under the knife again!

When I was looking for boob docs, I found out some really bad stuff. It is crazy how many docs can just go to a two year add on to their dermatology degree and become plastic surgeons. I almost fainted when I found out that dentists can legally become plastic surgeons after a 2 year course!

The best advice I can give when looking for a PS is find out if the doc is a resident plastic surgeon at a hospital (typically those are better and do a lot more procedures), where they got their degrees from and what they majored in in college, and see if their procedures are covered by cosmetassure (which is a 30 day no fee insurance, so if something major happens you do not have to pay anything.)

I am so sorry to hear about your experience Danni. I almost had a nervous meltdown when I fell on the ice after my boob surgery and had to go into surgery again for a hematoma after 3.5 weeks.
