    Sad Neck Zits

I've never had bad acne, just a zit here or there randomly, but for the past few months I've been getting these horrible zits on my neck..I only get one or two at a time on each side, but usually there is a matching one on the other side in almost the same spot. They're big zit size and they hurt. I don't think they are cysts but my assumption regarding cysts is that they are bigger, need to be lanced and have smelly pus (gross sorry). This doesnt really fit that description, but the more I pop them the worse they get...

I know Im not supposed to pop zits, but they get so swollen that it kind of hurts not to...they won't go away which sucks because without covering them with makeup they are DISGUSTING looking.

Does anyone know where to begin with these, or what they are?

Are you cleaning the makeup off your neck properly? I get them sometimes because when I get home and am have asleep washing my face I sometimes miss my neck. Also make sure you are exfoliating your neck. It's an easy spot to miss.

It is also ok to to squeeze as long as 1)The pimple is ready to be squeezed (enough of the infection is close to the surface and it will easily pop 2)Your fingers are clean or you use a beauticians tool to do it.

I struggle with my skin and visit a skin doctor fortnightly and she says extracting gets the infection out which in turn allows the pimple to heal faster. It has to be done properly though.

I guess it's possible considering how much makeup i wear while im at work. Do you think it could be also due in part to irritation from body spray/perfume/lotion? Thanks!

^^ If you have sensitive skin (or you wear several products at once, like me) - then it could be irritation. If you suspect it's your perfumes or lotions, try going without to see if that's the case.

One of the reasons I break out on my neck & shoulder blades is because of my hair - it gets sweaty under there, and my pores get clogged by the products on my hair. If you're near the ocean, take a swim and lay out in the sun. Wash your pillow cases regularly, clean any necklaces/chokers after wearing, drink plenty of water (adding lemon juice really helps) & regular workouts to help purge your pores.

Properly removing makeup (or going makeup-free until you clear up,) tying your hair up, taking hot showers (opens up the pores) and exfoliating (homemade sugar scrubs like brown sugar & olive oil) are also helpful, or get to a sauna if you can.

    Good Luck

I have a metal allergy. Only the best metals can be worn on my skin, or I break out. I've worn necklaces that have caused neck zits.
Have you been wearing the rhinestone necklaces/chokers/colars? These are very bad for me. I also used to get soars around mouth that I assumed was a cold soar. Nope. Metal allergy, Necklace in mouth, lighter, or some silverwear.
Latex can also cause reactions like this.
    Good luck figuring it out.

Ohhhh! Ya I forgot! Good call! The other thing they told me at the clinic. Tie your hair back at night because some pimples are started by the grease and oil from your hair. Also change your pillow case every 2 days.

I lately only get pms related pimples but tea tree oil is a life saver for me-smells oddly strong but couldn't hurt to try it.
