    Default Detroit clubs, help.

I've been doing some recent reading about clubs in Detroit, MI from old threads on SW, and I must say--I am disturbed. Hand jobs, blow jobs, fingering, and titty licking are normal? I've read that some girls are NOT extras girls and can avoid doing extras and still have $200 and $300 nights because they have a good hustle. My problem is that I am going to be a new dancer, and I will have to learn how to hustle properly. I know I can invest in DancersWealth, and read tips here in the hustle hut, but I am concerned. I have absolutely no interest in having sex with random men, or performing sexual activities for random men. It would make me feel uncomfortable to know that I had to do those things or go home broke, and if that is the case I guess I should pick a different job. I am well aware that everyone is hurting, and that Michigan's economy sucks currently, but I should still be able to dance and make a living. If I was going to be a prostitute I would do just that--go walk around on 7 mile half naked. Right now moving is not a realistic option for me, and it probably won't be for a few years. Help!

What I want to know is what you are supposed to do when you can't escape unfair extras girls and you want to make an honest living as a dancer. How do you vamp up your hustle before you've even started dancing? Is it even realistic to expect $100-300/night in a Detroit club without doing extras?

Girl I feel you. I'm from Michigan but never danced there. You didn't start yet? I can't imagine that EVERYONE is doing extras.

You most def should be able to walk out with $100 being new and 100% clean as long as you are trying and the club isn't dead.

Give it a try and keep your standards. What type of club will you be working in? Do the girls at that club make stage tips? What are the fees like? If they do make stage tips that should be at least $50 by the end of the night...then just get a few dances.

Also, if you're new try to use it to your advantage. What shift will you be working? If the club opens at say 8pm and all the girls show up a little late try being the first girl on the floor. You might get lucky. I have that way. A guy comes in with limited time and just wants a dance and you're the only one ready. I've gotten a few VIPs like that.

Try getting a few regulars. That way you know for sure that on certain days or whatever you are getting at least a few dances or $100 or $200 from one guy.

Sorry it's not much help but just try and go in. And then see how it is and maybe you will have specific questions.

I haven't picked out a specific club yet.

I've really got my eyes set on a few, and I'd love to work at the Penthouse eventually. I'm not sure how realistic that is, though. I'm attractive, don't get me wrong. I'm just not sure what they are looking for.

I also have an anxiety disorder that causes me to pull out my eyelashes when I feel stress. I'm working on stopping it. You can't notice when I wear fake eyelashes and make up though, so I don't think that would affect my overall appearance.

I've noticed girls on SW talking about girls working a few days and then "giving themselves" time off. What the hell? You're allowed to pick your own schedule? Do you even inform management of whether or not you'll be showing up and what shift you're going to work? I don't understand.

The girls don't get in trouble for being late to the club if it's supposed to open at 8 PM? I know that you are an independent contractor, but I didn't think you had that much freedom.

that's weird. I have anxiety problems too and that's why i take xanax. As for the schedule it's different at different clubs. most clubs I got to pick my nights. some said it was mandatory to work a slow night like sunday or monday.

when i worked at flashdancers in nyc if you didn't show up on some nights i think we had to pay $200 but that's extreme. most clubs are cool if you call in advance and let them know

You say you've been reading about the clubs...where?

I'll tell you this much. The best idea is to GO & TRY.

Review sites for clubs EVERYWHERE are filled with junk about people getting blown or whacked off in the VIP, and most of it is not true.

The anonymity of the internet will move people to do astounding things.

That being said, I think I should warn you that since the *recession*(getting so fucking sick of this word), I've heard Detroit is a ghost town. You might want to consider making a hop, skip, and a jump across the border. Windsor and London are both pretty good options.

I understand it may not be feasible, especially if you don't drive, but maybe consider taking a greyhound for like 30 bucks and staying in a seedy motel for a couple days while you try it out.

Worse come to worse, a fun trip to Canada, eh?

I've been reading about Detroit clubs on this forum, which I consider a reputable source.

I wouldn't work in Canada because of the need for a work VISA, too much work for me to be honest.

I definitely have a driver's license and a car lol, but I don't think Detroit is dead at all. There's always sleezy business men and drug dealers running around shooting up neighborhoods--nothing has changed in that respect. I'd like to think the cash flow hasn't either.

ok i live and currently dance in MI. penthouse has money potential for non extras girls but not long term. so go get your money and switch. landing strip just reopened under new management so it might be pretty good money but i dont know how bad the extras are right now. They are opening a hustler club in lincoln park hopefully by the end of this month so that should be good money with little extras for at least 3 to 6 months. I currently work at the Deja Vu in ypsilanti which is pretty clean for the east michigan area. the most we bitch about is girls grabbing boners outside the pants and girls making out with guys. They dont tolerate hand jobs or blow jobs or anything but you have a much younger douchebag crowd cause its nude with no alcohol. There is potential to make money if you can really hustle and if its busy.

Thank you so much! I posted another thread about Deja Vu in Ypsi, I was considering auditioning there first because I figured it would be cleaner that Detroit clubs. Sounds like I've found my first hunting grounds. I was already aware it was a juice bar, and I can deal with having to hustle, I just don't want a bunch of blow jobs and orgies going on around me.

All the clubs I've worked in, you make your own schedule. YOU pick when you want to come in, then you pay a house fee depending on what time you come in. Most of them I've never even told if I'm coming in or not, I just show up. Most clubs also don't care if you leave early. Some will charge you, or just make you go through hoops, but either way, if you need to leave you can.

When I started they really needed girls on a 4-12 shift, so the didn't charge me a house fee. I would stay over until 2 am and bank. Working 10 hour shifts in the club is exhausting, but you can make money that way.

There are some clubs out there that ask for a schedule, and sometimes if you let them put you on one, they give you a discount on the house fee.

Everything depends on the region, and the particular club. Try it and see.

    Good luck!!

Deja Vu ypsi is small but at least its cleaner than many of the alcohol bars. Most the girls are nice too. We do require a schedule. They prefer 4 full shifts a week. Our am. night is on wed if u wanna check it out. Or you can audition at shift change which is 7 mon-wed and 8 thur - sat.
But you do have to deal with a bunch of 18 yr olds and college douchbags. If you know how 2 hustle the youngins you will be fine.

I was going to try and work 5 days a week, do you think they would allow that? Thanks for the information about the amateur night, do the regular dancers work on amateur night as well?

They have a VIP room, correct? How much are the VIP charges for the custies?

I found this out online, is it accurate?
    $10 - Bikini air dance
    $15 - Topless lap dance
    $20 - Nude lap dance

Most importantly who do you tip out and how much? What is required? Is management accommodating?

Do they have valet parking or a secure lot behind the club? I noticed it is in downtown Ypsi where there is primarily parallel parking available.

How much contact is expected at Deja Vu?

    Lightbulb Re: Detroit clubs, help.

Hey everyone! I haven't been on in some time, but I would like to help you with this topic. Being a Detroiter, I know how difficult the clubs can be. I believe that it is all about what you make of it. There are plenty of Detroit strippers that make a ton of money. I know that when I was dancing, I consistanly came home with at least $200 on any given night, whether weekday or weekend. It was all about professionalism and the art of the tease. I would even call up a couple of my customers to let them know that I would be working and they should come up to the bar if I knew that the night was going to be a "slow" one. Even though I dont encourage you to get your custies numbers, I do encourage you to treat them like your custies and give them superb customer service. Smile, dance sexxy, not slutty, and continue to talk for a minute or two to gain interest. I never did extras because it took away from the "tease". The men at the bars know its about money, so don't make them feel like you are trying to squeeze every dime from them (even though you are). Be pleasent and when you're on stage, demand attention. Hope that helped.
Laughin my ass all da way ta the bank!!

I'm from the area too. But moved to Chicago for school when I graduated and I started dancing there. I did work a bit here in Detroit and it wasn't hard at all. But I was making $600 a night at least in Chicago. And I had that kind of night here in Detroit maybe twice. It wasn't really worth the liscence fee for me. What was nice in Detroit clubs was that I didn't need to hustle hard at all, money was just there and it was easier to work more than three nights in a row. Also found that there are less people willing to tip on stage in Detroit clubs than the other places I've worked. I never fully understood that but eh, whatever. I recently heard that the laws regarding the strip clubs in Detroit are changing soon, and not necessarily for the better. Just keep your head up!

The Detroit City Council proposed a bill that would affect Detroit clubs. I'm looking to dance at Deja Vu in Ypsilanti so I would not be affected by that bill. I don't know when you two last danced down here but I've received numerous private messages from dancers who worked in Detroit recently or currently claiming that I should stay the hell away unless I'm willing to do extras. There just isn't any long term potential for clean dancers in Detroit anymore from what I have been told. Deja Vu in Ypsilanti has gotten nothing but good reviews (as far as cleanliness), and the monetary system that a current dancer at that club gave me seems fair to me.

If I change my mind after working there then I'll definitely have no choice but to work in Detroit, but for now I'd like to stay away from there. There is no license required for Ypsilanti clubs either.

Oh by any means if you find a club better than any in Detroit, go to it! I have friends that still work in the clubs here in Detroit and they are doing just fine. But for them it's different than what I would be used to. I personally would say steer clear of the Detroit clubs. But if you need to expand horizons, it's always worth just going in and maybe checking out them out on Amature night.

I work in Detroit on a regular basis every weekend, and I have to tell you that the extra thing is true. Girls that do it make more than 200 to 300 a night. The girls that don't do it average about 200 to 300 a night. It's pretty decent for it to be so many girls working the same shift, but the girls are cheap and I guess the guys like cheap! Personally, I'm not into that but that is the truth.
Life is too short to live the same day twice.

That is my problem with Detroit is the license, does anyone know if that comes up on a background check, which is normal for most post College employment. I couldn't imagine trying to explain to HR, about an Adult Entertainment License.
