    Default what a connundrum...

Hiya, ok, My current day job is working with young children, i love it and it's the best fun! However, i'd love to try 'supplementing my (ridiculously low) annual income with dancing.

Im fairly certain I could get a place to dance as I've been offered jobs in three different SC's that I've been in (twice scouted by the girls ''come and get on the pole, you'd be ace!'' and once by a manager ''are you here to audition coz you've got the job?'') I also got scouted to become part of a burlesque troupe whilst on a night out haha...but i digress...

I am quite concerned that if i were to be 'found out' as a dancer i would lose my current day job and any prospect of furthering that particular career route...(i would also be completely disowned but that's a side issue!)

    Any help/advice/opinions gratefully accepted...Thank yooou x

I don't know if its worth the risk if it would ruin your career. I also used to work with children, but I soon figured out I hated it and never wanted to do it again, so dancing became an option.

I see you are in the UK though so maybe you could travel 2 weekends a month far enough away that there'd be no chance of anyone seeing you. I also tried that route. I flew 1.5 hours to another city every weekend. My travel expenses were about $600/week but it was worth the $3-4K I was making in cash.

With the way the media spins things these days, I wouldn't want to risk it, they'll think you're stripping FOR your children or something. Then it'll be extremely hard for you to get any other job in the future... Just be careful

Maybe you could try it a few towns over to see if you like it and then decide.
