    Angry grrrrr! a rant

I was so mad when I left work yesterday! Near the end of our shift (I work days) a small Bachelor Party group came in. It was the Bachelor and the Bachelorette and a few friends. A couple of the girls heard the Bride talking in the bathroom that she was "hoping that the Groom would back out" and basically the Bride wasn't too thrilled about the trip to the club, but "the Groom wanted a Bachelor Party". The group had just sat down and JUST started in on drinks. They were watching, and clapping for the girls on stage, but not tipping...yet. One of the girls, a VERY obnoxious one at that, came back to the dressing room and said "Oh yeah, I just went off on them! I told them that this isn't f***in window shopping and they need to get off their mother f***in a**es and start tipping!" OMG! In my opinion, this was VERY rude! I'm the kind of dancer, and so are most of the girls at my club, that actually want the customers to feel comfortable and have a pleasant experience! I've even told customers "Okay, you may not be spending money now (if they've said they don't have money that particular day, etc) but I DO want you to feel comfortable, have a good time, and give you the opportunity to visit the club again (where in the future they would come back and spend money)" I just felt that when that girl let loose on the customers that it put ALL the dancers in a bad light. She represented us as a club and did a very poor job! The group had barely started drinking...give em time and they may have loosened up and spent money. Those customers after her rant would most likely go to their friends and say "Hey, don't go to that club! The girls are RUDE". She could have sat with the group, talked to them a little, and ENCOURAGED the group to tip. She was just obnoxious!

It could be possible that the bride told that girl to be rude so that they can leave. The party may have actually had no intentions of tipping which has happened before in my experience. They may have also been club/bar hopping so they didn't plan on staying anyway. There's too many variables when it comes to an event like this. And even if they did plan to tip, there may have been drama between the bride and groom. Don't worry there are plenty of customers that will still come to your establishment and spend money on you, just keep at it.

uhhhhhhhhh, i don't.......hmm. hm. i am not working for applause. so...if you're okay with working for applause, that's cool. but i'm not. so though i understand your rant, i can't say that i share your sentiment. because i don't.

also, i am not going to bend over backward to make a non-tipping customer feel at home. the government does not accept hugs and kisses as repayment for student loans, and so, my attention has to go to paying customer. as a result, non-paying customers will probably encounter a healthy dose of hostility.

eh im siding with hte girl on this. I dont like customers like that in my club. If you want to show appreciation for me getting naked in public and putting on a good performance, then put money in my garter... dont clap and yell. I dont like large groups coming in and staring and not spending money. Strip clubs are supposed to encourage people to spend money-- not to sit and stare and have fun for free! They can do that outside without seeing my tits.

plus if the bride was being like that, then they should have left. i hate it when people bring shit like that into the clubs. It is very inconsiderate to our feelings.

why was the bride at the BACHELOR party? this man sounds pussy whipped... i doubt he would have bought dances or even accepted a dance if his buddy bought one for fear of his future wife going off on him.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

If she actually said something exactly like that immediately, I can understand that making you cringe a little bit. However, I certainly don't believe in being as tolerant as you describe. While I don't think it's wise to start throwing a huge fit right off the bat, I do think it's a good idea in these situations to start putting some pressure on the non-tippers pretty quickly. You can walk up to them after you get off the stage and say "I'm glad you liked my show, would you care to tip me for it!?" With an outstretched garter. I've also heard girls say cute things on stage with a smile, like "If you like the show, feel free to start tipping! No greenery, no scenery!" Or, if the club allows you to remove clothing at your own discretion, "I sure hope someone starts tipping so I can start getting naked up here!" Sometimes I'll even approach groups who aren't tipping and explain that it's customary to tip if you're watching the show since we work for tips alone. Some people (especially young guys) really don't understand how strip clubs work and may not have been in one before, and I've even had people thank me for explaining it and start tipping.

I have to ask- are you new to dancing? I used to have a similar attitude when I started, but I eventually realized that I was basically telling people it's ok to watch the show and not tip anything, which was really unfair to myself and the other girls, and just encouraged bad behavior. We DON'T want people to feel "comfortable" with being cheapskates!

My club mostly caters to bachelor parties on the weekends and I absolutely HATE it when the bride comes with! Even when one of the other guys brings his gf, often it's awkward for the rest of the party as well as dancers who approach them.

...Although a decent number of them do get friendlier once they get drunk and loosen up, and usually will sit at the stage and tip for a while later on in the night. Plus it's fairly common for female friends tagging along to the party to turn out to be secret lesbos once they get comfortable. But they still only tip a few dollars, very rarely get dances.

I agree with you that the girl was being rude though, there's other ways to encourage parties to tip and I think it's really obnoxious when girls act like that in front of customers (unless they're *really* misbehaving)

I don't think I've ever seen a bachelor party come into my club with the bride. Thank god for that, cause it's awkward enough getting the bachelor onstage when his friends have bought the whole bachelor stage show...it would be ten times worse if his fiancee was there. And if we can't get him up on stage, the party does not get their $125 refunded. And the guys do NOT like that idea.

it's okay that you're not paying us back, we just want you to have a good time as an educated citizen of the united states.

    LOL.

yeah, i have a tendency to go off on people too. once i told a guy that compliments didn't pay my student loans and he could either give me money or be removed by force from the club.

I use to feel like all customers in the club should be treated well because I still had that hourly wage/salary mentality. Then I woke up to the fact that customers that watch for free are the same ones that get touchy for free. I was going home with less $ wasting my time with these jerks. It is total disrespect because they would never work for free and let others watch.

I had a guy tip me $1 on stage the other night. When I went to thank him and offer a dance, he told me he wasn't a millionaire! I just walked off.
I totally agree that this type of behavior should not be rewarded or encouraged at all. I think explaining is good for people unaware of how the strip club works like Elvia suggested. I would not be mad at any stripper that goes off on these types. That stripper could have student loans like Camille27 and I.

Do you really want cheap customers that won't tip in your club????

I think they are a waste of space and should be somewhere else. I feel like every dancer's time is worth $ and getting it for free is cheating her. If they will cheat another dancer, the jerks will try to cheat you.

Do you want to be cheated out of your $?

Camille27: I wish the gov't did take hugs as payment!!!!!!!!!!!!! Along with credit card companies and the bank that owns my car! It was a FaNtAsTiC idea, though!
Surprise: I'm with you! I am getting better and better at dealing with these creeps.
Athena: Right on! Customers need to show appreciation with $$. I thought that is what we all strip for, lol!

Also, it should be noted that waitresses are not happy when people dont tip. When i was a dilivery driver i would get SAUDY when people didnt tip... I would tell them that we didnt deliver to their area and i would often remember their names so when they asked for food again, i would be sure to take my time. (stripping is a much better option for me than delivery driving lol. at least i can get away with this stuff when i dance.) Its courtesy to tip.

One guy came into my club once and said he was here to watch us to which i said amicably "as long as you tip!" and then he was like "I dont tip" and i said "you should tip us, just like you tip your waitress." to which he responded "oh, thats ok. I didnt tip the waitress." Assholes like this should NOT be made to feel welcome in our clubs. The othe thing is after dealing with someone like this, i almost dont want to get naked on stage because i dont want an asshole like that staring at my naked tits. I think it is best they are discouraged from returning and seeing you naked.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!

Man, this reminds me of a night I danced for the bachelor with his fiance literally WATCHING from behind him at the table. AWKWARD!! He literally touched my calf for one second and she KICKED HIM in the side! Hard!
Talk about recipe for DIVORCE. Ugh! Awful! What a miserable existance.
