    Question Financial Newbie

Hi all! I've been reading and trying to understand this forum for quite some time however a lot of things go wayyyyyy over my head because I simply do not know the basics. I feel like I'm taking University Calculus when I haven't been to kindergarten and learned 2+2. I'm looking for suggestions on how to get a real grasp on the basics of the financial markets. Are there any books you can suggest (Are the dummy series good for this sort of thing)? Any websites for true, true beginners?

Also, to make things difficult, I'm Canadian, which I believe doesn't make too much of a difference unless you're talking retirement funds or tax write-offs.

    Any help would be appreciated

Dictionary of financial terms. Usually available in most book stores - you need to know the vocabulary before you can speak the language.

And don't worry - we all learn something on here! (Whether we agree with it is another story....)
