    Crossfingers best facial exfoliater

ok, i am looking for a new facial exfoliater.
i like the ones that are really gritty and make my skin feel super soft!
i have used dermalogica, st ives apricot scrub and elemis skin buff.
can anyone recommend a good one.
i am in the uk at the minute tho.

    Beginnings!

    http://www.beautifulfacesonline.com/

Expensive, but AMAZING. Unlike anything I've ever tried before. Not only does it get all the dead skin off, but it does something like.. trigger collagen production because I will notice my skin changing for the entire week after I use it. I used to have horrific skin problems when I was younger due to an autoimmune disease reaction and it left me all acne scarred up, but through using this product, eating right and lots of circulation improving exercise, I swear, my skin is starting to look better than it did when I was like 10 years old and my acne scars are fading all the time!

    Wow^^^ That sounds amazing!

Crystal, I like to alternate between something like St. Ives Scrub (I use the one with salicylic acid), and an 8% glycolic lotion on my face. The glycolic lotion stings and is very acidic, but I find it exfoliates differently than a scrub. Also, it KILLS acne and shrinks pores. So, I switch between the two once a week.

You might want to try this product. Read below for more details.

Derma e Microdermabrasion Scrub (A Salon Treatment Alternative)

Voted “Best of Beauty Award” by Better Nutrition 2008, Microdermabrasion Scrub gives skin a youthful glow and helps smooth away fine lines and age-spots, refines enlarged pores – even helps smooth and fade acne scars and stretch marks. Hollywood celebrities spend hundreds of dollars on microdermabrasion treatments before an important photo shoot, a camera close-up, or going to the Oscar® award ceremonies. You can save hundreds of dollars by using Microdermabrasion Scrub, the affordable salon treatment alternative that provides almost 30 applications in one jar. This state-of-the-art scrub utilizes a crystal blend system that safely and effectively removes dead skin cells, creating an immediate visible improvement in the skin's appearance. Fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks are markedly faded, and skin is left retextured and silky smooth. The crystal blend used in this product is a large molecular structure and is therefore not bio-available to the body, so there is no possibility of absorption through the skin.

For all skin types except those with Rosacea.
Use two to three nights weekly.
Free of fragrance, parabens, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulphates, petroleum, mineral oil, and artificial colors.

The sonicare face brush is supposed to due wonderful things for you. Its basically a toothbrush for you face.

Its very expensive though, so I've been experimenting with using an actually toothbrush on my face and following the sonicare instructions/timed cycles. I have noticed improvement - I don't have many new pimples. I wish I had someone with the sonicare to compare to

Not too sure about an exfoliating scrub.. but I've been using DDF's 10% Glycolic acid toner and it works WONDERS! Seriously shrinks the size of your pores and cuts down on breakouts. It's very exfoliating. If you're sensitive you might want to use it every other day at most, but this stuff is awesome. You can find it at sephora.com

Actually really scrubby exfoliators are bad for your skin! One of the best things to use if you must exfoliate is baking soda. Pour a little baking soda in the palm of your hand. Add a drop or two of liquid soap (mild, like Cetaphil) and enough water to make a paste. Wet your face with lukewarm water, scrub, rinse with lukewarm water.

Here's a great site to learn about skin care: . (Scroll down to the article "Understanding Exfoliants.") The author is big on the chemical exfoliants now (the salicylic acid types) but I got the baking soda trick from her first book a very long time ago.

Lancome's Resurface-C Microdermabrasion Kit makes my skin baby soft. Aluminum oxide crystals rock.

Thanks! I'll have to try this. I have super sensitive skin and every scrub on the market is a nightmare for my skin.

Caudalie Gentle Buffing Cream. It's gentle, but it really works very well. And all of Caudalie's stuff is all-natural, so that's a bonus.

I use the sonicare brush. I like it a lot but honestly don't see a huge difference between when I use it every day while home, and not using it when I travel. I was being comped at a vegas spa and just grabbing everything I saw. I don't think I would pay for this with my own money after having used it for free...

On a side note- a friend of mine started using and loved it and it made a huge dif in her face. Two months later she didn't get what was happening because she was constantly breaking out. She never cleaned or replaced the brush! Duh...

Aspirin Mask - mix @10 uncoated aspirin with enough water to make a paste. Put on your face and use as a scrub or leave on to dry as a mask, then scrub as you rinse. Makes your skin feel perfectly soft and smooth and clears any zits right up!

I love Makeup Artist's Choice Microdermabrasion scrub (www.makeupartistschoice.com). The best I have tried - wouldn't be great for super sensitive skins though.

As far as the Clarisonic, I bought a dupe of it at Sally's (www.sallybeauty.com) - "i Skin" or something like that. It works great and it was around thirty bucks. I personally cannot tell the difference between the two result wise.

Crystal Peel by Formulary for Physicians is a fantastic microdermabrasion-type exfoliant. Really gets your face really smooth, and it doesn't rip your skin to shreds.

I bought it from a local boutique, but you can probably find it online.

Here's one site that has it:
