    Default Colonic Irrigation

So, i'm interested in getting a colonic soon. Reasons being i'm a little banked up at the moment and also feel it might decrease some abdominal bloating because of it.

Just wondering what your experiences were with colonics? Positive or negative. Would i be able to work the same night that i have one during the day?

    Thanks!

You would definitely be able to work the same night, but don't drink any alcohol. It will help tremendously with bloating too. I had one once, but honestly I didn't like how it felt.

The best place in chicago is http://www.chicagocolonic.com/ the owner is a true believer and she went through a huge legal battle to operate her business and prove that it is legit and not some sort of a sex biz. Their machines are state of the art as is their cleanliness. There are other places with some very funky machines and questionable practices. Don't go for weight loss, I went quite a few times over a 2 year peorid and started weighing myself before and after, and my weight never varied more than a half a pound.

Here's my opinion on colonics....... some people refer to the human intestines as the sewer system, or plumbing that needs to be cleaned out. This is not true. Actually, the human intestines is full of flora, bacteria that help us break down our foods, and the human body is a self cleaning organism. By constantly doing colonics, or any extreme detox practice, you are actually throwing off your body's balance of these bacteria. I think a colonic is good every once in a while, but it's not true that we are all full of waste sitting in there that needs to be flushed out. I mean, you would have to eat McDonalds for a few years straight for that to be true. When I had a colonic done, the lady laughed because she said, "You must eat really healthy, nothing is coming out but green water" (which means I eat a ton of vegetables). It didn't really have a dramatic effect on me.

Thanks JD. This whole "detox" bullshit makes me want to bang my head into a wall, repeatedly. Colonic irrigation is absolutely unnecessary, and if done repeatedly, can cause bowel perforations. It's like douching your intestines. And we all know douching your bajingo is bad news. Why would you need to douche your guts?

    True.
I had it a few times when I used to smoke. I found it helped then, smoking used to affect my digestive system.
I woudnt mind another colonic this month since Iv been drinking strong coffee and eating bad. Its good for a clean out, if you have been bad to yourself, to have a fresh start. But no need for a regular appointment if there is nothing wrong in the first place.

It's good to detox but not something I would do all the time. In my experience it's only really important when you are fasting because nothing is there to push the toxins out. A lot of people also do them after liver flushes. I've never personally done one but this is just what I've gathered from friends and what not. I prefer to just do a salt water flush, it's basically the same thing, you just drink a ton of liquid with a certain amount of salt in it, so the liquid can't be absorbed by your body and it just rushes through your system. Drinking the salt liquid is kind of nauseating but you definitely feel clean afterwards. I highly recommend eating a lot of good bacteria foods if you do this because it washes away a lot of your good gut bacteria.

I had my first one in July after a Jamaican vacation where I ate everything I could possibly stuff into my belly...three times a day....

after the colonic I got down to my lowest weight since high school. Literally 12 lbs gone in 2 weeks.

I've had one before. It was a very strange sensation to say the least. You'd be able to work the same day. Try drinking some ginger tea for the bloating, its what helps me.
