    Default I hate hairdressers

This is like a rant/help mee?

Ive had bleached white blonde hair for years so it is dry/damaged, I went to the hairdressers to get it done darker because I dont think my hair could take much more bleach (I only got my roots done but inevitably it got on other already bleached parts)
So I wanted to get it done a light brown colour.
It turned out nice but after a little bit it faded and turned quite blonde/a green colour (at the roots it was still the browny colour as that wasnt where the bleach was) which I understand because its difficult with the bleach
So I went to a different hairdresser (due to moving) So I asked if they would be able to get rid of the greeny colour and turn it back to a lightish brown colour but still keep abit of blonde in the front around my face and I also made a point that I realise my hair is damaged and no matter how much I cut off it is going to be damaged due to the bleach so please can they cut as little off as possible as I have been growing my hair for ages and they were like 'yeah sure no problem' sort of thing.

So she cut literally inches off which I was sad about but I can accept because it will grow.

However now my roots are a weird ginger colour then it goes to a really dark brown where they dyed over the hair where the brown had already taken well and then it goes to a darkish brown with a slight green tint. And its a even dryer weird texture. I am gutted! I am pretty lost what to do without my hair falling out this colour is awful and I am quite light and it makes me look like a ghost Im so mad at them lol I dont see I can do anything about it. I want to cry ( I had this done yesterday)

going from blonde to darker can be tricky-a few years ago i went from blonde to dark red, and after a week it turned orangey-pink.
i suggest going to the PAULA YOUNG site, (they have decent wigs and mostly decent prices) and get a wig or clip in piece (like a clip in updo where u put ur hair in a ponytail, clip it in and go) to cover it for now. with as damaged as you say your hair is further chemical exposure would probably make things worse.

I had something similar happen with my head. I bleached it and then dyed it red, but after a few washes it started getting really spotty....I looked like a giraffe. They sell spray in hair color (like the stuff balding men used to use to cover spots) at beauty supply stores and on the internet. I don't recommend covering your entire head in it, but if you wanted to just blend out the green spots it might work. It washes out with normal shampoo

Henna wash.. A friend of mine did alot of damage to her hair with coloring. There is this henna mix that helps with the damage, it comes in clear to brown. Try that every other day for a week or two with little heat and spray. It should work your hair back to normal. I have the site that carrys the stuff if you want it. I dye my hair sometimes so I keep it and use it once a week so I keep the damage down.

I was going to suggest maybe trying to use henna to correct the color.
It's about the least damaging option you've got at this point.

Also... please PLEASE tell me you didn't pay them.

I like hennaking.com, Their henna is the purest I've tested. I been using henna since I was little... My parents didn't like having a dark haired child.. So I went to henna and reverse serum for years just to get to where my hair is now.

To quicken the process change your eating habits abit, baby your hair, give it time to heal.

It protects your hair while adding vits and others that nutures your hair. I can't remember a name cause I been changing brands over the years. Its not cheap, so make sure you do a study on it. I'm trying to make a special mix for me, so I don't have to switch.

Thanks,Im surpirsed you still have hair if you got bleach left on it, I feel ridiculous getting so upset about my hair in person but I care about my hair more than I do my make-up/clothes and other stuff women generally care about, its so frustrating lol.

Yes, it's understandable. You 'wear your hair everyday, you're stuck with it
Now mine is darker, I had it redone yesterday, & it still sucks. I went to a salon, they have a great rep, I've been there before several times. They put in lowlights, & a glaze, & now it's too dark again.

    NO NO NO NO!!!!!

Do NOT use henna if you even THINK you may get a chemical process in the future because henna will cause all kinds of problems for you, think weird sickly metallic greens or having all your hair melt off.
What you want to do is to go to a salon which specialises in corrective colour, they can take out the weird tones and give you a proper colour but it's not a one shot deal. You'll need to get filling treatments because after so many years of bleaching the cuticle of your hair strand is open and damaged. It sounds like you went to a very unskilled stylist. In future when making a drastic change like say black to blonde or long term bleach blonde to anything else, you REALLY want to deal with someone who knows their stuff. it's not cheap but what you spend in money you'll save in crying over someone effing up your head. That's just my advice, but I AM in beauty school AND I once ended up with pink hair trying to go a darker blond from a light bleach blond.

    PS We love you too!!

^^^ I was going to say the same thing about the henna. Don't add metal to your hair, it will make it worse. There is a reason salons are not allowed to use anything called a "dye" in Michigan salons and it's because of the metals in it. They use tints. I too went to beauty school almost 5 years ago. I did especially well in color. I would just suggest getting a gentle tint from the store in a brunette that has red in it. Red cancels out green. And you don't want to do much more to your hair. It needs to heal. And maybe you need a break from a stylist and just try it yourself. Sometimes when you don't get what you want from a stylist it is because they aren't fully understanding what you are saying. What you say will be different to what we hear. There are terms for what we do and we just plug in what we know and some stylists just don't read clients very well. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Hopefully the next one is better for you.

Yep, I got a cosmetology license. Once you put henna in your hair you cannot have any service done until the henna either grows out or is cut off. If you hair is too dark immediately after coloring, it will fade in a week or two. Especially with a cheap shampoo like White Rain or something. Cheap shampoos fade color. If your hair has been bleached and you are trying to process over it, be very careful. You are lucky a greenish tint is all you got. Your hair could have fallen out. But you do not need to keep coloring over a greenish tint. What you need is a red toner to cancel out the green. It is not hard to do yourself if you go to Sally's and get a red toner. But I highly recommend going to a good salon and paying for corrective color. The average hair dresser does not do corrective color, thus your frustrations. Corrective color is expensive and worth it once you have overprocessed your hair and gone from one color extreme to the next. After you get rid of the green, LEAVE YOUR HAIR ALONE for a while. Condition it and let it get back to normal.
