    Default Dancing in the US

Mrow...Hey kittens, I'm from Australia and I have 5 years dancing experience. I'm keen to move to New York for 6 months, and would like to know if any of the clubs sponser temporary work visas? Not that I expect you US girls to know, but any help would be great!

Not that I am aware of; you could likely call the clubs you are interested in and ask them their policies. I'm not even sure they would require a work permit. I know mine wouldn't.

...Just one thing: I'm not American, but what's with the "not that I expect you US girls to know". Prettttty snotty.

She probably means that US girls wouldn't know because we don't need a work visa here

Really? What are you girls classed as? Here we are subcontractors, so all we need is an ABN (Australian Business Number).

My message wasn't snotty at all. What I mean't by that is that you probably wouldn't know as you most of you are US citizens, thus you do not need a visa.

No clubs that I know of will help you get a visa because dancers are independent contractors. This means you are not actually an employee of the club. You have to be an employee to get a visa.

PM me & I will be able to help you out.
