    Default Healthy Snacks?

What do you girls bring with you to snack on when you work long shifts? Also, do you brush your teeth after every time that you nibble on something or how do you freshen your breath?

Gum, I got through a pack a night.

I don't eat when I'm working, but I think nuts or dried fruit would be a good snack... it's not messy it's healthy and it won't make you bloated.

I have a bunch of things I'll bring depending on my mood.

Fruit - either apple slices or berries are easy to eat.

Protein bar ( I'll eat at the end of shift) or a Protein shake. Muscle milk, etc.

Nuts and dried fruit like Audrey said.

Veggies - celery, carrot sticks, sliced bell peppers are easy and don't get too caught in your teeth.

Yogurt sometimes. Greek Yogurt with berries and honey is like a dessert that's good for you LOL.

Also I'll drink an emergen-c during/at the end of the night ( you know those little powdered vit c drinks?)

That helps keep my energy up.

I find that when I bring my own healthy stuff it's much easier to avoid the crap that the house mom has set up.

And I have a travel toothbrush, gum, mints and listerine strips with me. I hate having death breath.

I bring my toothbrush every night and brush my teeth everytime I eat something, or a certain amount of time has elapsed. It's funny but nothing grosses me out more than gum.

Bring Odwalla Super Protein drinks. I swear by them, especially since food isn't appealing to me right now. There's two servings in a bottle, each serving is about 220 calories. So one bottle is enough to stave off hunger for an 8 hr shift.

I don't eat at work because I don't want people to see my food belly!

Larabars, fruit, Wasa w/natural PB, things like that. Sliced apples w/ peanut butter is fairly filling. Beef jerky or a PB & J sandwich if I am really hungry, but def have to brush teeth after THAT! For long shifts, yogurt if there is a refrigerator handy, soup if a Microwave is handy.

I carry a toothbrush and paste, plus floss, in case stuff sticks in teeth, otherwise, I always have gum handy (chew it for a bit, then toss it - don't like the look of gum chewing), and I drink water that I add Peppermint and Lemon EO to.

    ^ Love Lara bars!

I pig out when I'm at work, but only on food I bring from home. I'll bring a lunch box with me that has a few things in it that I can eat on break. I have a fast metabolism so if I'm busy I'll be ravenous when I'm done dancing.

Some of the things I like to bring:

    Yogurt with lowfat granola
Nonfat Greek yogurt with a bit of honey (tons of protein in this)
Laughing cow cheese square with a few Kashi TLC crackers
    Apples with peanut butter
    Dried apricots
    Veggies and hummus
    String cheese
    Zone bars

If I'm working a long shift I'll bring a salad with grilled chicken or some Thai food and brown rice in a tupperware container (I'm addicted to Thai and constantly have leftovers).

If you know you get hungry at work always come prepared with something! Or else you'll end up snacking from the vending machine or getting fast food.

One of our managers will literally come by and take food out of your hand and throw it in the garbage if it's junk! Then tell you he's doing you a favor. Lol

our grocery store has 5$ sushi that is surprisingly fresh. I eat that. But the dressing room has a refrigerator so that helps. Sushi is pretty healthy if you get the right kind of rolls... the kinds loaded with cream cheese not so much, but a roll with seaweed, rice, salmon, avocado and maybe something else is pretty healthy.

Sometimes i also snack on almonds. They are pretty healthy.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

I think nuts are a great snack, they are high in both protein and fiber. So a small handful will fill you up and keep you going for a while!

Personally I love to drink Naked Juice on my way to work. Blue Machine is the best, they jack it up with fiber and B-vitamins as well as vitamin E. It keeps you surprisingly full because of all the fiber and the B-vitamins give you energy, plus the vitamin E has the added bonus of giving your skin a nice boost.

    A breakfast drink "up&go"

I keep an extra tooth brush and small mouth wash bottle in my bag/locker in cause I eat food in the club with a customer or if I eat on my way to work.

Good suggestions. I'd usually eat too much and get that "food belly" or eat nothing at all until the end of my shift. Both were shit decisions.

I must agree with the Odwalla drinks: my favorite is Chocolate Super Protein. It has been over a year since I danced, but even for a long day of classes and homework, it kept me from passing out from hunger if I didn't have time to eat a proper meal.

I also like Zone chocolate food bars. Tastes like a yummy candy bar, but has protein, vitamins, and minerals.

Are we seeing a chocolate theme here? Hm... If I wasn't 2 days late I'd say it must be that time of the month!

Anyway, to freshen breath, I swish and swallow with water (gets the food bits out) and then use liquid mint drops. I don't like to use gum or mints because I feel very akward talking with anything in my mouth. You never know when someone is going to come from out of nowhere to strike up a conversation!

I always get bad food belly (probably because I have weak abdominals) and I would stop eating at 2pm just to make sure I looked good from 7 to 2. The adrenaline of walking around and dancing kept me from really feeling the hunger though.

if you get food belly, try taking something with semethicone in it. it stops bloating real well. Rolaids with antigas have it, as well as gas-x, etc etc. i used to get food belly a lot until my friend introduced these to me. now i have to eat a lot to look fat from just a meal.
