    Default Question about weight

    Hi!

As I said into my introduction, I'm looking forward to be a stripper here in Montréal. I want to start training first, do yoga and some stuff to lose weigh and gain flexibility.

I just wanted to know, from the pic below, how much weight you girls think I should lose? I'm a 5'5 and I weight around 145-150, which is enormous according to what I read here...

    So, your guess?

    Thanks for your time!!!

Look great from here. Basically just tone up and you'll lose any excess body fat naturally that way. Crunches, push-ups, pull-ups, squats.

I should probably take some of my own advice ;(

Still, from all the things I read, especially the "Do men prefer really thin women?", where it says that 130 is big, I feel overweighted :/ I'm a 150! I wouldn't mind if I was 6 feet high for 5'5... I mean, Dita Von Teese is my height and weight 105.

So, I wonder... But I have to tone up anyway, since I want to be a bit more defined, it can't be showed on a picture but I have some fat on the thighs that I would like to disapear!

    But thanks!

I'm sure you could find work in Montreal looking like that! I know 100% you could work in Ottawa, that's where I used to work and you look way better than lots of girls I've worked with over the years! I know how you feel about wanting to lose weight though, but trust me, I've worked both skinny and heavier, and I make the same $, if not more when I'm curvier.

i think you look great! doesn't muscle weigh more then fat? I think eating a lot of fruit, staying away from processed food, and doing light workouts (15-20 minutes a day) works well for someone who is already mostly fit.

Agreed. I think the tummy could be a little flatter, but otherwise, you have a very pin-up type look that usually goes over well.

    You look great!

One thing to remember is that what you see when you look in the mirror is not what other people see when they look at you.
For example, when I look in the mirror and see the 15 pounds I put on over the past 6 months that I have to drop before I start working. This is not what my friends (in general) see- they think I look great and don't see my little buddah belly and think I should start right away.
(And I hate weight charts; they've never worked for me! I'm 5'9". When I was swimming competitively I was 170lbs but my body fat was so low that my doctors were worried I would stop menstruating!)

Likewise, whatever areas you can't help but notice when you look in the mirror are probably not the same things that people are going to see when you are dancing. They are going to notice your nice boobs, your great smile, your great arse, your porcelain skin, etc.

And it never fails that the one feature I don't like and/or want to change, is invariably a feature that I get complimented on.

Lose as much weight as you feel like you need to.
If you're comfortable where you are now. Stay there and tone up.

I wouldn't say there's a specific number to look for... Everyone carries weight differently so it's hard to pick a specific number as "what you should weigh at your height to look good.
If you feel like you need to lose weight... hit the gym until the parts you don't like the look of... look the way you want them to.

Your body mass index (BMI) is the best way to find out if you are in a healthy weight bracket. It is not biased, nor does it care if you are a little more curvy here than there, or how those new jeans look. It just simply tells you if you are healthy for your height standards.

The BMI categories are as follows:
    Underweight = <18.5
    Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
    Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

At 5'5 these are the numbers I pulled from the BMI calculator online for 145-150 lbs:
    145 lbs - 24.1
    146 lbs - 24.3
    147 lbs - 24.5
    148 lbs - 24.6
    149 lbs - 24.8
    150 lbs - 25.0 (medically overweight)

If you weigh 149 lbs or less you are not considered medically overweight for your height. Once you hit 150 lbs or greater, then you are considered medically overweight.

I cannot speak for your entire body because I have only seen one picture of you, at one angle. I would say that for someone looking to get into the sex industry, you should work on tightening up your arms, upper thighs, and abdomen. You might consider doing exercises to lift your bottom to compliment your chest.

Instead of focusing on numbers, though, I would recommend trying to please your personal image of what is healthy and attractive for you! Others will follow your lead when it comes to personal opinions, and the way you carry yourself can be more important than your overall appearance.

i think you look fine. You dont look 150 to me...are you sure your scale is correct?

The poster who said muscle ways more htan fat is correct, so just your weight as a number is not always a good measurement. Why dont you try taking your measurements as a better determination for your weight? Measure aound the bust, then the thinnest point around your tummy, and your hips. And if you wikipedia ppl your height, a lot of celebrities have their measurements on wikipedia so you can compare.

i think the ideal woman is allegedly 36-26-36. But a lot of that is just ridiculous talk.
The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

Yeah, I've done that. I'm a 36-29/30-36. I want to go down a bit more.

But thanks all for your comments! I'll get a picture facing the camera soon.
I'm definitly toning up. Really thanks for taking time to answer!

It depends on where you are as to what people like. In some regions you'd be perfect in others you'd need to tone up a bit. I've found that in the US customers in the midwest they love a curvier look, in LA and NYC they like really skinny girls.

Every body is different. Focus on eating healthy and toning up, but don't focus on the numbers.
Muscle ways more than fat, so just because someone the same height weighs less than you, doesn't mean the are healthier. Also, guys like girls who are healthy and fit, not just thin.

I think you're fine! And 150 does not look bad on your frame at all. Honestly that thread screwed my head up a little bit too, I'm 5'6" and 160 and it made me feel like some kid of pathetic cow who let myself go. I would focus more on toning up, a little pudge looks waaaay better over toned muscles. And don't stress if you gain weight from working out-I gained 10 pounds in my first month of dancing which I haven't been able to shed, but it was just from the new muscles developing in my legs as a result of walking in the shoes all night.

Oh and I disagree that BMI is a useful tool for telling you if you are overweight, it does not take into account the fact that muscle is much heavier and denser than fat. I know many people (myself included) with a muscular build and healthy to low amount of body fat that have an "overweight" BMI. And also people with a "healthy" BMI who lacked muscle definition/strength.

Don't let the numbers control you. I am 5'4" and have run the range of about 110 to as high as about 145. I personally am much happier at the lower range of things, but I'm pretty sure that's a mental result of me letting the numbers control me because I honestly don't think I've looked bad at any weight I've been at. Tone up where you think you need to for your own self image ... hold your head high ... and hit the stage!

I think you need to tone up and drop ten lbs. You don't look terrible, so this shouldn't be hard to do. The tummy area needs some work and it looks like you could stand to lose a little in your bottom half. I'm not nit picking or trying to be mean, you are attractive enough to make it in this business, but I think you need to lose some weight. My tummy area needs work too, (I'm 5'9" and weigh 138 lbs) but I need to tighten my belly because I had twins 6 months ago and I would like to lose 8 more lbs. I think your weight is on the highish side for dancing, but you look pretty good. Just tone up and lose a little.

PS I also get by wearing dresses and just taking out my boobs and removing underwear, while keeping my dress/top over my midsection. It hides my loose belly and works at my club!

I think you look damn sexy from that newer, clearer picture. I also think beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Everyone has a different perception of what is beautiful, and you cannot please everyone! I'd say that the inner arms and stomach should be the areas that you target for your exercise regime, and that tightening yourself up should be your number one priority--not necessarily worrying about a specific weight.

Doesn't look so bad. Honestly... you look about how I looked when I first started dancing... I've since lost around 20 pounds (which is a lot at 4'11") and make much more money than I did when I was bigger.

I agree about the ten pounds. That should do it, I think. I agree with everything she says.

If you wanted to start now I would get a corset. Looks pretty and you can just pop your boobs out.
