    Default thoughts on amature nights?

i'm thinking about entering an amature contest, but i'm curious if there is any money to be made in something like this or is it mainly for girls who want to have a good time for the night and aren't actually contemplating dancing?

i called the club to get some basic info and the person i talked to gave the impression that it was very, very, very busy and cheers dictate who wins. call me crazy, but this sounds more intimidating (for a newbie like moi anyway) than dancing on stage on a reg night!

your thoughts on amature nights are appreciated,

I do amateur nights to check out new clubs sometimes. If you look good you can use it a chance to audition. Usually you don't really make money when you audition so it can be a win/win. I've won some and sometimes you don't win but can still make cash tips on stage. In some areas they won't allow anyone to keep the money if they don't work there.

As far as the intimidation thing... You're going to be nervous the first time you get on stage anywhere. SC customers can be fucking pricks sometimes but are generally nicer to a :"I've never done this before" kind of girl.

Even if it is busy, if you are considering dancing you're going to work on busy nights. You'll need to get used to this.

Except for a few markets (cities and many "black" clubs); your money isn't made on stage anyway...

    Hope this helps

i wouldn't mind working there casually... it's not too far from me so i'm not sure if i'd want to call it home, but i'm wondering if amature nights are more about having a good time for a few hours? it's sounds like there are a lot of girls who enter and if i want to work at this club semi-regularly i'm wondering if it would be in my best interest to audition on a night where there aren't so many other girls around? just to give myself a better chance?

this is the info i was looking for - thank you!

i want to bank and dance at a club semi-regularly so i'm not looking for a random night of fun, espec when the chances of making money are slim.

They are often rigged ( whoever brings most friends wins ). It really depends where you are. If I were you, I'd just go work a night somewhere and see how you like it. Depending on the laws where you are ..... you may not even be able to sell dances after the contest . If you don't get a cash prize, you could wind of making nearly nothing for all your work of getting there and getting ready. It's probably best to just work a night and see how much money you can make selling dances instead of fiddling with am amateur night. I'd only do it if the club will let you work that whole night.

It's a good way to get a feel for the club, but don't expect to make any serious cash. In the tri-counties (South Florida), I only know of a couple clubs that do Amateur night, and with those clubs, even if you bring a cheering section, you still may not win because a waitress from the club/known dancer may enter at the last minute (which is what happened to me).

Plus some places have a tip ban. It's an asshole game, but...yeah.

I started because of Amateur Night Also ended up being the only one to sign up so I won all of the prizes I went in not expecting to win anything, just wanted to have fun and see how I would like it, and I had a blast! It's definitely worth going, if not just for the experience of doing it.
